Well, my Khajiit...

Disclaimer: this is just for no-cp PvP

I play Khajiit stamina NB since release, since last patch it's still fine, cats never really have been THE top race for pvp, but right now it's the first time I'm feeling somehow outperformed as stamina race. As stamina health regen tank my cat performs worse, my bosmer is critting higher than my hard hitting bow gank cat dispite this new crit Bonus.

I got that ZoS want's me to be a kind of hybrid now but I cannot see how all my new racials seem to fit together. My cat is more like a duck, it can swim, it can fly, it can walk...but nothing really well. A heavy armor hybrid Sneaker with hard crits and low crit rate. At least my resource pool is a bit higher.

But maybe I just don't get the point. Any idea about a decent hybrid build which is making use of all these strange racials I got now?

ah sorry, my bosmer is not critting harder. was a mistake of mine. my khajiit is hitting for less from stealth than before but harder than a bosmer.

When was the last time you took your Khajiit to vet for deworming? If it is a free roaming cat then you should do it once a month. Or buy the deworming pills and do it yourself so that it will be cheaper.

As for your question I'd recommend playing around with ESO builder and Alcasts page with all sets:
    https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Special:EsoBuildEditor

    https://eso-sets.com

Thats all the help I can provide you with your issue at this moment.

The way I see khajiits optimization in pvp is to build around your high crit damage (high burst damage, high crit, reliance of crit out of cloaking, devastating incaps out of cloak or snipe/ambush execute combos). I cant see them perform well on a brawler type.

If you run builds that are usually ran on bosmers, orcs, redguard or even tankier races like nord/imperial you will underperform a slight bit.

Thats what I actually did on my snipe Setup (marksman+spriggan+2 wpd 1-pieces+warrior mundus). I did not go for max crit but for max wpd to have more sustained dmg because just crit doesnt work against tankier setups. At least I with my tanky Setup cannot remember that I ever lost against such a build.

But compared to before I now would have to purely rely on crit dmg and cloak. So I would have to get a bigger mag pool and much more mag regen. Maybe shacklebreaker+spriggan. All tri stat enchancts.

What would be a good magblade Setup for this? After 5 years with a bow I might take this as opportiunity to Change.

A kind of hybrid tank wouldnt work well?

I'm not saying a tankier NB wouldnt work well... I feel it wouldnt be as optimal as it would be on other races. Running a high damage set like fury is great on an orc or even perhaps a redguard if you got passives that helps you stay alive while the wp damage builds up (sustain with reguard and health/regen with orc).

As of fighting tanks on a high burst setup; they are somewhat of a counter to those builds. I guess if you make them drop their block with use of fear and then burst with cloak/incap/execute would end up working after a few attempts.

I also feel like the added crit damage is great if you work build around it. I feel like running damage sets is a good go. I could tell you about specific sets as I'm playing an orc and can't seem to be able to get away from the shacklebreaker/bone pirate/velidreth setup.

I would be curious to know who well sets like hundling's rage/automaton/archer's mind would work in terms of added crit with raw damage on a khajiit.

Is there a cap for the crit modifier? I tested archers mind. It is doing 40,6k snipe at a mob with crit modifier at 1.95. Using spriggan instead I get 42,6k with modifier at 1.8.

Archers mind 5 piece should increase my dmg by 8.3%. Spriggan has 1 stamina, 1 wpd and 3329 penetration more which increases my dmg by about 8-8.5%. So I should end up at about the same dmg but with archers mind it's about 5% less.

I'll test it this evening. It could be the spriggan as well.

    So far my test:
    • spriggan 5 piece bonus is overperforming. I does 8% dmg increase but should be about 5%
    • crit multiplier for khajiit is computed properly
    • crit multiplier itself is computed properly up to 1.93
    • archers mind 5% works properly up to crit multiplier up to 1.93
    • archers mind 10% stealth bonus seems to be underperforming by 20-30% from what I would expect. I didn't find a rule tbh. Its difficult because I have no non-crit comparison.

    Can somebody confirm?

My Altmer nightblade is quite envious of the Khajiit racial passives. The crit damage modifier synchronizes well with the auto-crit from the nightblade's cloak.

The Spriggan 8% increase sounds reasonable. Are you testing it on players or NPCs. If NPC’s then the 3450 penetration results in 3450/500 = 6.9% reduced mitigation. Say for example your target was mitigating 14% of your damage, so you were only dealing 86%. Then you put on Spriggans, so they can only mitigate 14% - 6.9% = 7.1% or you deal 92.9%. Your observed damage increased by 92.9/86.0 = 1.08 so you saw 8% more damage.

That would explain. I used 660.

Any guess about crit dmg Cap? Or the 10% Bonus of archers mind?

Anyway. With shadow mundus I get up to 1.93 modifier in no cp. This is enough. This Plus high mag sustain will make. I can play melee or range.

On a second view these changes dont sound bad 😀

Going back to your original post, I feel much the same way. As a khajiit stamblade from launch, I find myself casting about for a build and playstyle that would really make the most of our current passives. (Unlike you, I usually play CP open world.)

I'm familiar with all the usual stamblade PvP playstyles--full damage ganker, 2H/bow burst dueler, 2H/DW pressure dueler, DW/2H brawler. I'm currently back to a brawler build, running Troll King/7th Legion/Spriggans, primarily to take advantage of our health recovery passive. I'm running DW/2H, 5 heavy/2 medium, all infused jewellery with one stamina recovery and two weapon damage glyphs, and two sharpened daggers to increase my critical chance. Food is Artaeum Takeaway Broth. The build is very survivable, especially with the Steed mundus, but I didn't have enough damage so I switched to Warrior. It's better, but I still don't feel like the killer cat I should be!

If any of you khajiit out there have any ideas, I'm all (furry) ears.

Khajits win in the style department. Can’t be greedy.
Looking for any guildies I used to play with:
    Havoc Warhammer - Alair
LoC EQ2 - Mayi and Iskiab
PRX and Tabula Rasa - Rift - Iskiab
Or anyone else I used to play games with in guilds I’ve forgotten

What about a Khajiit focused on bleeds using TBS? Thief and Shadow as mundus and a more hit and run playing style

I was considering that. I have Master's DW (dagger, sword, no axes).
