Buffing the Imperial Race

I understand that ZOS doesn't want to make the Imperial race good or they will be accused of pay to win, however with a simple modification it could be viable dps for mag and stam, and may even be an ideal Mag Tank race. Also making it not OP.

Passive 2 - Presently affords 2000 stam. This should be changed to afford 2000 resources to whichever pool is highest. That way Mag Imp is viable.
Passive 3 - Increase ability cost reduction to 5%. This still puts it beneath Breton.

With that in place, the Imperial will be versatile toward either Mag or Stam builds, and even Hybrid builds, and the ability cost reduction would be more worthwhile.

I want to make a Imp Necro Mag Tank :(

    Passive 2: No, thank you.

Passive 3: Along with the resource return this would be too OP. I'm really happy with how Red Diamond functions this patch, I think a further increase would be too much.

You realize that breton gets 7% magicka reduction and not reduction across the board. 3% across the board is pretty strong.

If you have a Stam Imp, Passive 2 change would make 0 difference to you. It just makes Mag Imp viable.

Not really, only for hybrid builds, Stam tanks do use a bit of mag utility skills, so I can see them getting some benefit. Pure DPS would barely notice anything. Perhaps 4%.

You know that "abilities" isn't the same as " stam/mag skills", right?

For passive 2 it is clear they are not trying to make every class equally viable for both magicka and stam.

Overall this post sheds the light on the reality that no matte what the passives are that Zos will not make everyone happy. That is all this is.

No. Imperial's reduction is also for block, roll, and ults. It's fine where it is.

Look at Bosmer & Argonian racial passives...

What am I trying to say is: Imperials are not in the worst possible spot when it comes to their racial passives.

Imperial is super strong this patch.

Just not magica dps or healer. So what? It's ok for every race to not be amazing at everything. What's the point of even having a race if they were?

Imperial is better than it used to be. 2k health and stamina is massive and that extra health allows you to switch up either glyphs or food to boost your damage.

3% reduced cost to ALL abilities is very good, 5% would be way too good. This isnt just magicka and stamina abilities... this is ultimates, dodge, block, sprint, sneak, and bash all in one. The triple recovery is pretty small but its just icing on the cake.

2k magicka or Stamina depending on which is higher wouldnt technically be op but no other max stat functions this way for racials, its almost too convenient.

Compared to the racial passives we had before, I honestly think there's no reason to complain. When tanking on my Imperial DK, I've noticed a tiny improvement in sustain thanks to the new passives. And in Battlegrounds on the same character, the sustain is rediculously good. Imperials are in a good spot right now imo.

Because built properly, Imperial can already pull ahead of several races in terms of DPS, and even Healing. Giving them the ability to swap between Magic and Stamina would make them more than just viable, it would make them omnipotent in literally every sense, despite lacking the 258 Weapon/Spell damage buff of Orc/Dunmer/Altmer.

People have already said it. 3% reduction for every single thing, even on things you get reduction on already through armor and cp. I don’t know if you thought it was just spells... Imperials have received a major buff.

Imperials are in a great spot right now. Passive 3 is quite good.

Passive 2: gain 2000 magicka or stamina, which ever is higher, when dealing direct damage. Can occuur every 5 seconds.

Passive 3: reduce the cost of all skill by 5%.

I feel most races are fairly well balanced right now with a few nips and tucks that could be had. I don't see Imperial in need of a buff, it is an optional race not a pay to win race.
