True. Six months to train a horse is insane. I'd be happy if they cut that time in half.

    Same.

Even tho it can be vexing, I would see having to spend a lot of effort on a new character as the lesser evil compared to the "all account wide" notion.

Well.... as a long time horsewoman.... I point out there's not an ending time limit to training a horse IRL. Serious. I do get you're talking about the game, and it's a fantasy game at that - but perhaps someone thought it was at least partially on the "believable" side for the length of time. *shrug*

I paid mare care and stud fee for my paint. Picked him up from our friends (mare's owners) at 4 months, stabled him with another friend - where I paid his stable fees in trade: I worked with her to train foals, feed show horses, talk sales with prospective buyers, show youngsters how to care for horses from the ground.... hooves.... up; assisted her vet with everything from simple shots to surgeries such as gelding my colt to resetting an eye one of the more rambunctious babies ripped out somehow (I was the only one on the place who didn't get stupid over blood etc.) to autopsies. He offered me a job as his lay assistant - but I was within a year of retiring, so turned him down.

My paint was.... a very jittery horse. He HATED anything that wasn't human or horse. So the ravens in the meadow? He chased them out. The goat at one place we winter-boarded him? He freaked every time he saw it - or smelled it. Cows. Oh LORD. We have them up here in all the meadows and loose on the forest from early May until mid October - and every time we were anywhere near cows while out riding, I was lucky to not get dumped.

Horse training is continual. It never ends. Now, I don't know if one of the devs knows horses or not, but I don't find six months of messing with horse stuff unusual at all.

Pretty sure I'm singular there, but seriously, it doesn't bother me. Of course, part of that is that in this game, I can't even mount, dismount, harvest a node, remount, ride to the wayshrine, dismount, travel without getting dropped to login screen. This is likely due to my mega ping, but what it really means is that I just don't ride much....

...and THAT is why they sell crown store riding lessons... just in case you might break down someday and spend your cold, hard cash on crowns to get there a bit faster!
And that... is also why we will -never- get account wide riding or anything.
And I am okay with that.

And that is the core of the matter anyhow - IF they ever decide to make more options available, THAT is how they will do it.
    For a crown cost.
Crown store skyshard collection crystals. Crown store exploration maps. Crown store book collections.
Still sounds like such a good idea?

As such, I am not going to have any expectations in this direction... no matter how often both the gimme crowd and the more reasonable players vexed with getting a new class this late in the game cry for it...

achievements, at least, should be account wide ffs. Mount training is another story but achievements are are ridiculous.

I honestly don't want a class change token myself, but I want account wide achievements so I don't have to rely on global achievement addon.

I prefer character-based achievements. If the game had launched with account-wide, I would be OK, but this game did not.

The achievements or the perks from those achievements. Are you thinking because one character got all the skyshards all the other characters should start with all those unlocked skill points available? If that is what you want then I disagree. If you simply want a way to track all your achievements across your entire account I am fine with that so long as we can also keep them separate by character.

With someone with a lot of alts i would enjoy having the luxury of a 60/60/60 mount on all of them or at least some of them. If they boost the cost to 1k per 1 and removed the cooldown i'd be fine with it. Other than that, no i don't need a class change token nor do i need account wide achievements

Well both. Making me hunt down skyshards and lorebooks on 12 characters is stupid. It may not seem stupid to PC players, but as a console player it is. This game is not the same on xbox as it on PC. But idk where you play, im just saying thats my reason for it.

But what i was really aiming at was achievements. There is absolutely no reason the game should not have account wide achievements, like crafting achievements pvp achievements, dungeon achievements, etc.. No reason at all..

And when console gets a skyshard and lorebook map, as PC has with add ons, then I will agree that skyshards and lorebooks should be account wide.

Just make another character if it is that big a deal. The skyshards should never be account wide. That's just too much, especially with the CP you get "born" with on an alt. Besides, you still have to level all your skills.

Although, I would like the mount thing to be account wide. That was the worst part of rolling an alt.

It would not be in their profit-oriented interests to make riding account wide.
    So it won't happen.

As someone who has leveled 15 characters on my main account, of course I don't want them to do this.

Nobody made me create and level up 15 characters, it was my choice and I enjoyed it. Leveling alts is already way to easy with account wide CP, XP scrolls, research scrolls, double XP/AP events and enlightenment for vet characters.

You think it's tough now, try character based CP instead of account wide. Back in the day we had to reach vet rank 16 (CP160 equivalent) on a per character basis.

I think that's exactly what it's like. Here's the thing, "back in the day" there wasn't nearly as much content as there is now. But now, there's so much to explore and yet people are forever trapped in the leveling grind and max level characters sit unused because there's no flexibility with them. All of this really serves to keep people from wanting to make alts in the first place.

Just keep in mind that there are people who don't consider it to be suffering, people who would be disappointed if the game was nerfed in this manner, people who consider this a reason to continue playing the game, and a host of other reasons.
