Personally i always use Mist Form from vampire skill line, if i get suprised by a nb, heal then stun with javelin, after that just use spear on them they cant cloak from it.

Thats basically what i do against all classes, just Block and stun, if they cant be stunned mist form until they can :)

I use heavy s&b+2h with 3 healing skills and ritual for purging. It's pretty easy to kill squishy NBS but it's a low lvl MMR fights :)

You have two of the most useful anti-cloak skills in the game:
-Jabs (like, 1/4 of nightblades just cloak inside the jabs/sweeps AOE and get salty when it doesn't work, so there's a handful of free wins)
-Ritual of Retribution (I don't recommend this, but it basically removes cloak from melee nightblades--extended ritual is, in practice, more useful in more situations).

Additionally, stamplar is pretty strong against the awful master DW/bow dot builds that kick around. Dodgeroll, purge, dawnbreaker.

Build, at a minimum, just tanky enough to absorb that NB burst combo you mentioned. That may mean a defensive set or an investment in HP via triglyphs or food choices--or just getting better at active defense (dodgerolling/blocking etc.)

When I get incapped by a NB, my default recovery is almost always breakfree, purge (dodgeroll cancel), burst heal. That usually counters their entire burst, as most NBs just continue their combo right after the incap even if the target rolls.

The best way to learn how to react/act against other classes and builds is to? play them. You learn the weaknesses first hand and how to exploit them.

I've played both stam and mag variants of every class have all character maxed and geared but with pve prespective where for stam class much of the stuff are same but however in pvp its a whole diffrent scenario particularly cc and survivability.

Make sure you utilise your cleanse properly. You can spam heals all you want, but if you don't cleanse DOTs and debuffs you'll die. I try to get around 12k magica so I can get a few off.

Don't swap to Ritual of Retribution. As a Stamplar, having Extended Ritual will keep you alive more often because you can cleanse better. Make sure to use it when you're poisoned and have all sorts of effects on you like haunting curse or burning or whatever. This should be your only magicka ability so you shouldn't have too much issue getting it out when you need.

For nightblades, make detect potions that heal you. When a nightblade jumps on you from stealth, use it and counter attack. If you can't burst them down and they survive longer than your potion, and you don't immediately pull them out of stealth with your jabs, just retreat. That nightblade is no longer a target and if you keep searching you're playing into their hands.

Playing them in pvp is how you learn to pvp against them, not playing them in pve.

You’re not going to get very many responses unfortunately. Stamplar is by far one of the least played classes for pvp right now.

In group play a lot of people are running tavas, blood spawn and another utility set to buff the group and use healing ulti. I definitely do not reccomend this.

Stamplar is currently the only spec without any form of ranged defense. There is cloak, wings, shimmering, streak...and magplar can use bubble. It also suffers from poor mobility, passives, and heals.

Purge is great for group and in a 1v1 scenario (always try to purge incap if you can) but, it has a very high cost and you can normally only purge off some effects.

Nb: purge incap, dodge roll and pray they don’t have steel tornado.

Dk: try to purge when all dots are applied. Most times this won’t work because one DK can put upwards of 12-15 negative effects on you. It’s best to just los and kit until they drop block and then you can stun.

Warden: just watch out for shalks and pray they don’t have permafrost.

Templar: cc when they jab or before potl goes off

Sorc: just take the L. You can’t kill them, survive their damage or catch them if they are competent.

    Hope this helps.

Edit: on mobile so excuse typos :)

    Have you tried Vampire out?

If not - you may want to. Because I really don't see how a Templar can be effective in PvP without it. I know I couldn't figure out a way to make it work without it. Or maybe try werewolf out since your stamina.

Fighting a nightblade is simple, when they turn invisible, expect them to hit you hard coming out of stealth.

You can really shut down a nightblades offence just by holding block when he cloaks. His combo will deal no where near the same damage, AND you dont get stunned so you can react faster!

Their only optiin to force a big combo is to go underneath you and fear you to break block, this is fine because you have enough time to react and break the fear and hold block again before his next attack. Also the nightblade is then in melee rang and easier to pull out of stealth.

Finaly a stealth detect goes a long way! Magelight, evil hunter or even a detect pot! This lets you more reliably chanse down a nightblade when they try to escape, and can also shut down thier offence if you dont let them enter stealth.

All I know, as a Mageblade, that power of the light plus the Jabby Jabs eff me up bad. It slows me down, keeps me from stealthing and I don't run fear so Jesus just takes the wheel as I get whisked away by the power of the light,
