So one day I decided I will try to go werewolf on an alt. And since I wanted to experience the quest I did not ask a player for a bite but started roaming the "sensitive areas" at night. Et voila, the other night I ran into two werewolves and got infected. Anyone else tried that? Cost me about, say, 30 minutes of game time. Is it normal or luck?

Well they could either go this way or buy the were / vamp through crown store, but I was asking about the difficulty. Looks like I have been lucky and normally it would take more time to become a were the "natural" way.0 -

The moon has nothing to do with when they spawn.7 -

The skill lines was not in crown store back then. Only option was to to roam the internet to see reported spawn points.
I think u were lucky, since there are still some players out there that slaughter the mobs that can infect u so they can sell bites. Now however there is a Pet, a black goat that have red glowing eyes when those mobs are out

Yep this Pet. So if u see a player walking around with it with eyes glowing, the vamps/WWs that can turn u are out there

✭✭I've gotten 3 werewolf bites over the years from the npc spawns and the moon was never a factor. I looked up all sorts of info, way back when, and it literally boiled down to running the 3 zones at night to the general spawn areas. That was it. Same for vampires. The werewolves always seemed to have higher spawn frequencies over vampires for me though.3 -

Eyllora✭✭✭I've got bitten several times by werewolves in game... on my magicka characters :-D And my stamina characters tend to be attacked by vampire and besome sick :-D Only bite I really wanted I didn't get it despite of hours, and hours of waiting. ✭✭✭✭✭I remember a long time ago I used to try finding werewolves in the wild, but never could. Completely by accident I ran into 2 of them about 7 months ago in Bangkorai near this broken tower thing. I swear it was like finding a Unicorn or something.1 -

✭I never wanted to become a werewolf/vampire. However, two years ago I have accidentally encountered werewolves in Bangkori and got infected. I didn't even know about these mechanics back then, and it was a surprise to me when I realized what actually had happened when the woman in Riften explained that to me.
Since then I have never seen werewolves/vampires. So, yes, I think you're lucky.One of the two of us definitely has gone mad. It only remains to define whether this one is the whole world or just me.

Bite originally were only gotten via wild vamps and ww crown bites came years later2
