Just like the title says. Add thoughts if you wish. I have only been here a few months but am finally getting to harder content and have seen a lot of discussion on this topic and wanted to get a feel of what race to use now that we can reroll. I have been an outlier with my Redguard, but she works for me so far. I don't think I will be able to keep up in the harder content, but I am no l33t min/maxer anyway.

    Nord for higher horn uptime for your group
    Argonian for resource management for yourself

    Dark Elf because there is lava in some dungeons and you don't want to die there.

    Also Argonian because there are dungeons with water and you have to swim fast if you've got to protect your team.

    While Nord would be perhaps the "best" choice..

    i enjoy now my Imperial sustain & max stats a lot. So glad they changed the Red Diamond from the first health proc iteration to this. :)

    Curious that so many like Imperial when that is behind a pay wall of $20. It borders on P2W. I miss the days when subs were given all content if they were able to unlock it through gameplay alone.

    As i said, you can actually make Nord as the "bis" choice for tanking right now. Imperial not p2w, it is just that us who already had Imperials, sorta feel they were improved a bit what comes to sustain, not that it is the best choice for meta trial setups.

    Now all Nord, Imperial, Argonian, Redguard, even some others are very good choices.

    I have read that they put more balance between the races on tanks which is always a good thing.

    Nord, 4.5 ultiregen with bloodspawn confirmed from what i see in CMX. Awesome resistances allowing you to run medium armor setups like PA/Alkosh or WH/Alkosh without risk of being impaled. Nice bonuses to health and stamina. Recovery.. recovery is function of how long you wanna keep block. And well, if you build up for ultimate you will get that ton of resources back on DK very often.

    Each race has good pasives. One for def,one for sustain.
    It comes down to need to alter builds slightly. Add some more regen or some more resistances. Each race does it fine.

    tbh all races are viable, but nord/argonian/imperial are the races you will usually see used for tanks.

    When compared to Argonian and Nord, I think they're the best of both worlds; Good sustain, but less than argonian. Better max stats than both. They lack the Nord over-kill resistance passive, which is very unnecessary (especially if DK or Warden). They also make somewhat decent DDs, if you ever want to respec.

    I said Nord, however if you like your Redguard then keep her. I have seen a couple of Redguard tanks at end game who had no issues if that makes you feel better about it :).

    Anybody looks in CMX on tank after some intense battles? I mean that imperial proc recovery passive is very over-estimated.. i got imperial tank and i never see 66 per second from it, 50 is probably best, if battle is not very heavy with mechanics preventing regular proc.
    3% cost reduction is really good though.

    I just race changed from imperial to nord after seeing how many points I'd need to put into resists to reach cap without bloodspawn or warden. Goes from over 100 points into physical resist to 34. The ult gen is pretty nice too.

    What jewelry traits are you using? If any are Healthy for whatever reason, you could effectively drop that for a Protection trait and drop the 100 down to 54 I believe. Might not be an overly appealing thing but it's just some food for thought.
