✭✭Well while it might be morning not sure what time it is over there for you right now but as I write finish writing this post this it is 2:31am here. I think they do it when most people might be asleep in the US. Since after all this is a US Company who runs the game. That would mean Eu players who have woke up or are in early morning hours say example 8 am. Will not be able to play.PC NA

✭✭Zenimax has always done NA And Eu patch and server maintenance at the same time. The only times they don't is when they have to take down one server for emergency maintenance.Which I am sure has happened with both servers but mostly Eu. When they take down the Eu server they don't take down the Na Server during those cases. But that is the only exception. I believe they do this so both teams can communicate with each other so nothing goes wrong on either side and if something goes wrong on one they can work together by communication to get the problem fixed.Edited by Thevampirenight on March 4, 2019 9:41AMPC NA

✭✭✭No, that's not technically correct. Back in the early days, EU was done in those early times for THEM, and the NA done as it is now. We both woke to a finished server, ready to go. Soon thereafter, that changed to how it is now, with the EU folks getting the short end of the stick, and having the server down in playing time.
I can only guess that they didn't want to pay the Germans to get up at the crack of sparrowfart to sort it. We EU's are second-class in the eyes of America. ✭✭✭✭✭I'd consider EU "prime time" around 7-10pm. Essentially when people are home from work, school, and have finished having dinner with families (if applicable).
Yes it sucks they aren't doing maintenance at 4am like they used to, but we've got it better than some other countries (Australia). They get the crap end of the stick for a lot of things.10 -

Nope! Ther was a brief period Zeni did the EU update in the early morning around 4 AM. After zeni moved the server to Europe it ended.
Also, its not about prime time, its about that the NA server is going down at a moment the lesser players are online, its serious stupid Zeni doesn't do that for the EU server aswell (wich is a laghell server compared to the NA).
Zeni doesn't care about EU, EU is second and always will be.

That is not true. Prime time refers to the period of time where the server is under its highest population load. There is no prime time for someone and not someone else.@Solar_Breeze

Whilst it can be disappointing if affected by downtime, generally speaking servers are down for only a few hours a week which is actually a very small price to pay for the necessity.

✭✭Well my guess is because they have six servers, I am guessing they did it to make things run smoother, between updates and maintenance's and possibly to save money while doing it. I'm a night owl so it goes down at 2am typically and wherever they're located in the Us is a time that starts at 4 am. 2 hours ahead. Given they got 6 servers they got to take down and work on per day for each platform. By doing them together it goes faster maybe, and maybe by doing it on the start of the work week and following days allows them to get it done and out of the way. It might save them money by having both server teams working together by skype or communication in case something goes wrong and that way both teams will be at work at the same time. I think these are the many reasons why they do it at the same time now. It works for them even though it does not work for some of their player base and I don't think we will see any change to it.Edited by Thevampirenight on March 4, 2019 10:19AMPC NA
