Oh come on did you even try to search? This can’t/won’t ever happen. I’m pretty sure it’s been officially stated at some point. There’s been a million threads on it. The only other thread that gets posted this many times and is just as unlikely to happen is spell crafting and even that has a better possibility of happening than flying mounts. I could see them adding some sort of low level ”hovering” mount that would essentially just be a mount sans legs, but there would be no ability to move up or down since that would require an entirely new system. And while people might still enjoy it, it wouldn’t really be a legit flying mount.

Like Vampire Lord In Skyrim I would not mind see them adding a mount that hover flies in the way the vampire lord did, The Mounts would
appear to fly their feet being a couple of feet off ground and thats it. This is the best hope for flying mounts there is though. If they ever introduce them it will most likely be in this manner. They would not be true flying mounts but they would be floating up in the air and when moving and idle either land or have wings flapping at all times as to make it as if it is flying. Hopefully we will see Griffon mounts added in this manner as well as those flying Tigers Raz was mentioning.

The game world is tiny enough as it is.

Frikking hell no!!! Bad enough with darn bears, matriarchs and scamps cluttering up the wayshrines and crafting areas. All we need is people too lazy to get off their flying mounts while buying from the merchants.

Gliding could be handy. But without a the mount.

Sadly, the physics won't allow it, any more than it will allow capes that aren't stapled to our character's butts.

Though the thought of plummeting to my death after being ganked by a sniper in Cyrodiil is pretty funny.

They already said their game engine can’t do vertical. Flying in the air or diving under the water, they can’t do it.

Free limitless flight = no, because there would be no more interest in exploration.
Moreover the maps would appear so tiny this would kill immersion.

The only way it could work is with strong limitations.

- Altitude limit - a flying mount can't reach the top a significant hill.
- Stamina resource limit (=flight time limit) - a mount can't fly more than a few minutes after each take-off, then it will have to regen its own Stamina by landing.
- Cultural lore limite - Only High Elf characters can ride Gryphons.

As cool as it would be, I have a feeling it would only serve to demonstrate the limits of the game. One of the ways the devs, quite cleverly, made zones feel huge was by using elevation to raise places up or to make it so you had to go around things to get to places. Flying mounts would make the world feel that bit smaller. Whilst I want my gryphon mount, it will either be disappointing to run it around on the ground or fly at ground level and would hurt the experience to actually fly.

Game devs generally fail to design zones that actually utilize flying in a meaningful way.
Unless we also have vertically stratified zones, flying is just a gimmick.
