the gray and brown colors are preponderant in the game
we are in a game, a little fantasy can only improve the change of scenery and the sensation of renewal every time we hang out in tamriel.
the worst is when I enter in a city.
I want to leave it quickly
some delves are 90% made with one brown color
the dye is in our clothing but it is nonexistent in the world of tamriel

Damn those Ayelids and Daedra worshippers for not getting the painters in when they built their temples !
So they raised the floor and lowered the ceiling. Except the ceiling has spikes in it now and the floor is also lava.

Most delves are either underground, torch-lit crypts, or in a state of decay to begin with. There's probably not a lot of color or sunlight going on regardless.

With the exception of a few areas like stonefalls, rivenspire, and alik'r, most of the zones are green, with bubbling streams, and trees scattered abundantly throughout. Cities and towns are built from either stone or wood, which are usually gray or brown shades, respectively.

the newer areas incorporate a lot more color...the original areas can look a bit brownish especially daggerfall's...on the other hand looking at all the neon colors a lot of players seem to enjoy decorating their characters in making them look like power rangers, one starts to appreciate the muted and realistic color palette a bit more...

Depends on the city - you could hardly accuse Alinor of being brown and grey.

Well, I guess it's a very light grey, but there are flowers everywhere.

But, I know what you mean about some of them.

Just don't ask for any anime like colorful rainbow locations, let's keep it as realistic and lore friendly as we can (at least as far is it is possible when it goes to fantasy game)
I'm done with this game because of ZOS pushing us into Vengeance, because they don't know how to fix Cyrodiil.

The color palette and realism of eso are key factors that keep me from going to anime games or WoW.

As far as I know, the colors are designed to establish the mood of the environment. Seems to be working.

These are the stereotypical colors found in every Elder Scrolls game. They are part and parcel of the lore and tradition. Don't like it? Go back to WoW.

Agreed ... plus: this not an Asian MMO ... or go to Auridon or Summerset and never leave it.

I’m glad the game has a realistic color palette. Graphically the game’s original zones leave a lot to be desired but ever since Orsinium the zones are beautiful. The subtle interplay between warm and cool grays and browns is what makes for beautiful color, not a bunch of garish neon colors.

ESO is very bright and colorful comparing to TES3 Morrowind, TES5 Skyrim and even TES4 Oblivion. Some of my friends - lore-fans like me - even refused to play it because of a "cartoonish" scenery.

My opinion - ESO is a perfect diverse blend of colors. We have colorful Stonefalls and Vvardenfell, they look alien and beautiful. We have almost monocrome Reaper's March and other zones to have a diversity. Murkmire is just an awesome blend of dull green swamp, lovely bright flowers and rich green accents.

I love ESO colors. Only thing I'd ask for is to make Shadowfen and Valenwood look like Selene's Web dungeon - dark, foggy, unpasable forests. Yet most of players would dislike it. Of course, this will never happen.

Or get Reshade and crank the vibrance to your personal tastes.

Damn... I just googled it... Man, you're awesome...

    Edit: @haloufe007
lot of other options available there - including those making ESO very bright and colorful, check it
