Is it easier to play a hybrid with max CP?

I know that hybrids are tough to play especially if you wish to do Vet content but I like to explore and play casually with one of my characters.
Right now I am going for a Dark Elf (the best race for hybrids) Fire Archer character. I just crafted the Shacklebreaker set.

I have 400cp right now so just about halfway there.

I notice when filling out CP that there seems to me diminishing returns at some point. In others words going from 1% to 2% takes 2 points but going form 14% to 15% takes a ton more. Take this, and add the fact that "Man-at-Arms" seems to be a good hybrid pick as I assume it helps ALL damage and then take someone with max CP and I was wondering if this closes the gap a little bit?

Thanks!

I find a fair number of hybrid builds doing pretty well in high level content. They're called "tanks".

There returns on cp heavily diminish the more you have in a single star. You gain way more with the first 300 cp as far as raw power. Having more CP than that allows you to spec into other options to help sustain, survivability etc. I know hybrids can be strong especially in pvp but you really have to run the numbers and theory craft.

Max cp is awesome, you can run overland quest in your underwear and survive.
    And your weapons of course.
    Your weapons are important.

With maxed out CP, my hybrid sorc had 31k hp, 30k magicka, 30k stam, about 4k melee and spell power in combat, 30% crit melee and spell, 22k armor, and between 10 to 15k spell and armor pen. I'm having a lot of fun with it. This one uses Pelinal in lilght armor and 5 spriggan with 2 separate monster set pieces for stats. Playing 1h+shield + bow.

My hybrid DK doesn't use Pelinal, and has around 34k hp, 27k stam, 27k magicka, 5 to 10k penetration 30% crit melee and spell, 21k armor, and can go up to 5.5 to 6k melee and spell power on demand. It uses Balorg as monster set, shacklebreaker and clever alchemist. This one plays 5 heavy 1 light 1 medium and 2H + dual wield.

And about the dps? I guess it's for pvp anyway, so it may be irrelevant.

Hybrids work for pve tanks and pvp

If you're looking for pure pve dps, then hybrid isnt gonna help you there. You flame damage isnt gonna be helped from a bow

But hey, roleplay however you want

I'm kinda curious what you've been doing. Because, while, yes, it's possible to mix 'n match, you do put a severe limit on your effectiveness with hybrid builds, to the point that most hybrids I see are a considerable weight on the rest of their team for group content. For overland content, no problem, that is accommodating. For PvP, hybrid is fine, because the priority there is on burst more than sustained DPS, and hybrids do have two resource pools to pull from in their alpha. But, for most PvE content, the only time you'll see a truly viable hybrid is as the tank.

Also, your tank probably should be a hybrid, because resource pools matter far more than damage.

Similarly, because of how CP works, splitting between stam and mag comes with a serious cost to both. It helps both stat pools, and most stam builds will use some mag abilities mixed in, but those aren't really hybrid builds. Just splashing utility.
