Daily writ craft and rewards after update 21

Hi folks,

Recently with update 21 changes we were supposed to get more cp 160 mats (when doing writs) for our lvls, however what I noticed for the past few days since the update went live that we mostly get only get sanded ruby ash most of the time, sometimes rubedite ingot, rarely leather and practically never ancestor silk...

ALso I donno it maybe just me but after the update the ammount of my surveys dwindled to maybe 4-6 / day (and mostly bad ones such as enchanting, pls do note I make 56 writs daily).
Now you may call it luck or just me being paranoid but before update 21 I never had to buy crafting mats to sustain daily writs so something must have changed.

What are your thoughts guys? Have you also noticed some changes to your daily writs surveys/mats return?

As far as I can tell, the mats being given after delivering the writ, are half what they used to be.
IIRC writs usualy returned 20 mats per writ , but now 10

Well yes but at max CP we were given (before update) below CP 160 mats, now we should get 10-15 mats from our lvl and some random mats from below 160 cp mats (like iron, cotton etc). However I do not see the mats from CP 160 that often is the problem, and as a "bonus" I do not see as many surveys as before.

the rewards and ioncentives for doing dailies should be updated and kept fresh constanlty, with motis, materials and other potential prizes. what they do give is insulting. why not give a particle that after 30 collections, unlocks a crafter costume- such as the blacksmith outfit, etc. then each 30- u unlock a detailed part- such as a new varient for it- etc, etc. such things are so simple and easy to implement but always overlooked.

ye it would be nice, for now it seems to be only a way to get rid of some mats from game which is still not working well tbh

Yes, I also noticed a substantial decrease in the amount of surveys. And it seems that master writs are less common, too (though it is different to say yet, because their drop rate was always extremely uneven).

Didn't notice any decrease in materials, but then again, I never actually bothered to check how much materials I'm getting. But it kinda makes sense that we wouldn't get back more materials than we actually spend. They want us to go out to the world and farm our materials every once in a while, not to sit in town and "earn" money with a handful of clicks. ;)

Market was becoming oversaturated with mats. Tempering alloys have dropped in price from 7.5k a year ago, to around 4.9-5.5k. Roisin on the other hand, is now getting really pricey 6.5-7.5k.
I think the changes might be getting made to slow down the market and give it so.e breathing space -its not good real life business for everyone to max out, get bored and then quit.

The writs themselves are undoubtedly returning more top level material: top level writs are giving back 10 of a random lower level material and 15 of what you just used; it used to be 25 of a random lower level material. You're getting back less at tier 1 (was 25 of what you were using, now it's 20 and 5 of the next tier up). Clothing is better adjusted too, since you now get leather back only on days you used leather. It used to be random, and somehow I got back way more leather than cloth mats.
I can't speak to surveys rigorously, but I got plenty this week, in line with past weeks.

They didn't give any ruby ash, rubedite or silk before so you're definitely getting more now. Those supply crates don't always drop in the rewards everyday, you could just be getting the short end of the stick. I've been receiving plenty of different surveys since the changes, they're still there. Haven't seen any drastic decrease of my supplies either. I farm everywhere I go though so it's not really an issue.

I have noticed that decent master writs disappear for weeks on end. I'll get some that are worth 2-6 vouchers once in a while but the bigger ones have become super rare. I did just get two this week that were worth 80 each though. Can't even remember the last time something like that happened.

I know a lot of it can be chalked up to rng, but the thing is, after doing these every day for a long time, you tend to notice when things change. The course of a week isn't much really and probably too short of a time-frame to gauge much off of. I've been keeping track of my gold take over 8 characters for months and there's definitely been some very interesting things that've happened along the way. That's a story for another time though.

During this week I was suspecting that something is wrong with master writs drop rate.
I do crafting dailies on 2 characters and prior to Wrathstone I was getting at least 2 "cheap" clothier/blacksmithing/woodworking writs (2-7 vouchers worth) in a week and like 3-6 enchanting/alchemy master writs. This week I've got - IIRC - 1 or 2 enchanting/alchemy writs in first days and 0(zero) clothier/blacksmithing/woodworking writs. Doing dailies today I had a thought that if I don't get any of them again, then it's definitely something wrong, and I'm going to the forums to check if other people have noticed the same. And here I am.
About mats, as others said, prior to the patch you didn't get any 160CP mats (just surveys) and now you get 15 160CP mats along with 10 low level mats. This change was described in patch notes.
I don't give attention to the surveys drop so I don't know if they were changed.
One of the two of us definitely has gone mad. It only remains to define whether this one is the whole world or just me.

u guys kinda didn't read what I wrote, it is not like I get each time the ancestor silk/rubedite ingot, most of the time I do not get max CP mats is the point of the thread (I still only get low lvl mats on some writs even though I have maxed crafts/CP/skill lvls) and so I have been wondering if others also have same troubles

adding to it less surveys and my real life it becomes a pain to keep doing them, but on the other hand I have to do them cause it brings me enough gold for my housing needs... ah well if it's just my feelings than I guess it might be time to consider searching for more casual friendly crafting mmo.

also ye it is true after 1 week i cannot judge properly with 100% accuracy but after 1 week I have just 6-7 clothier surveys while before update it was 2-3 times as much... also the highest writs I am getting (beside 2 often dropping annoying jewelry ones) are ~50vc woodworking ones... I mean wth 50 vc for legendary woodworking dlc set writ? is that a joke? last week before update I had nirnhorned epic writ from blacksmith that gave me above 50 xD

This is what they are dropping. The survey drop rate appears unchanged so far, and if you don't get a survey you get 15 of your current level, which is a massive improvement over previously. Before, you got no materials back at your current level.

If they really want to do something about over saturation, they should get rid all all the bots farming mats in the newbie areas. Their there 24 / 7 on Xbox NA server.

id like it if our work with the writs filled a meter and built to something...like an event or group reward or something.

i totally agree with what you say though...needs up dating!

If you are doing top level writs (i.e. one that requires ancestor silk) and are not getting the top level material back, that is a definite anomaly and not in line what what I and most others are seeing. I suppose all things are possible but please check thoroughly as most of the time when similar sorts of issues have been raised here it ends up being a misunderstanding about how the system is supposed to work. My experiences since the patch dropped have been completely in line with those posted by tmbrinks, except that at tier 1 woodworking/blacksmithing/clothing I am getting 20 of the lowest level material back and 5 of the level above. (That may have changed from first PTS to live). Every single top level writ I have done for those three professions has returned 15 of the materials I used - ruby ash, rubedite, ancestor silk or rubedo leather.

My survey take was roughly in line with previous weeks overall but I don't keep close track. I think your numbers certainly seem like they are in the area where substantial week to week variation can be expected.

I think the RNG is far too high on master writs to make any real judgment off one persons experiences for 1 week.
