You know, in all seriousness, instead of a purchasable token (which would wreck pvp if not on a major ACCOUNT cool down) maybe have a one time per character alliance change as a reward for completing cadwells gold.

At that point you've experienced all three alliance storylines and maybe feel like that character is really more EP than AD for example.

I liked how Fallen Earth had a rep wheel that you could fight through to the other factions ingame. But of course you'll have players gaming it. But at least you could switch up your faction when you wanted by just grinding reputation with your fave factions. Z needs something like that for us, but with One Tamriel probably doesn't work like that.

I like another idea. Free Alliance. You choose it for a campaign duration and cannot change without penalty. Outside PVP campaigns (and IC, which going to be a campaign too soon) Alliances make no sence at all since One Tamriel. Alliance ranks should be changed from "AD/DC/EP RankName" to simply "Alliance War RankName". And no more mad grinding skills for a new char, no more "I cannot play with you, dudes, my only DC char is trash dungeon heal".

In this instance I would absolutely allow an alliance change. Just for this guy to get rid of that disgusting AD character. One can only hope it's used as a pack mule for bank overflows.

lol. I wish it was! It is the second character I ever made so is kind of my "second main". Too much time and effort spent to just delete it and reroll.

How about as a compromise you can only get alliance change tokens as a once of thing with any-race/any alliance. People that have already bought it get tokens retrospectively allocated. The base game allows 15 characters now so you'd have an account lifetime allowance of 15 tokens max. That way you can change one character 15 times, or all your characters once.

It seems most people only want to change so they can either 1) play their main character with their friends or a new guild or 2) have a few characters they created before they had the any-race/any-alliance DLC and want to convert existing characters to their main alliance.

Most people would use an alliance change maybe at most once every few months so with 15 tokens you'd have enough to last the life of the game for most people and it would keep people from faction swapping constantly as they would have a limited number they could use. No need for complicated time limits or anyything just a global limit.
