Random FPS lag spikes while moving.

blaine.milburnb14_ESO
While moving and especially during combat I get random lag spikes that make combat almost impossible. This all started yesterday after the patch was released.

System Specs:

16GB DDR3 1333
EVGA Nvidia 760 SLI
I-5 2500k stock clock
1TB HD 7200 RPM

I have checked all my resource monitors and nothing seems out of the ordinary.

getting them too. It was fine just a few days ago. But now I get lag spikes when there are a lot of players on screen.
PAWS (Positively Against Wrip-off Stuff) - Say No to Crown Crates!

TESO needs a wardrobe system badly. Something similar to WoW's tmog system would make this game one of the best mmorpg out there!

How is your ping in the resource monitor to their servers when this occurs? Try a trace route. I don't think it is your system causing these issues.

I have this same problem. Game was running like a dream before, but after the patch I get these lag spikes. I'm not an expert in this, but I don't think it's a connection issue. It just seems like my screen freezes for a few milliseconds. Does that a few times, especially during fights.

I can put up with it while questing, but it makes dungeons almost impossible.

Same here. I'm checking the GPU load via MSI Afterburner and each time I turn the camera - even a bit - the framerate drops and the GPU usage goes down to near zero. The last patch must have messed up something.

    Specs:
    12GB DDR3
    Gigabyte NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680
    Intel i7 950

    bump, same

I also believe it is tied to rotating camera and on/off-loading models off-screen, happens most if I do a 180

Do you happen to be running any of the EsoHead or EsoHead Marker mods? I know that there was an issue caused by patch 1.01 and ESOHead 1.6 that was causing too much activity when you moused over things. You would mostly notice lag while moving the camera between groups of enemies.

If you ARE running those mods make sure to update to the latest version HERE.

If you're talking about network lag I'm not sure what to tell you. I've had occasional issues where I'll lag for 5-10 seconds. Pretty sure that's an issue with ESO's servers though.

Hmm...have you tried completely disabling all add-ons that you have to see if it works then? May have to do the process of elimination here.

I had this same problem since the last patch 102.

    What I've noted:

    * Since Beta I could run smoothly at 40-60 fps with all set to Ultra/High (OC double ram GTX285 and 6gigs on an i7)
    * It's only on my Highest level character, the first one I made. It's not as bad, but also discovered on my second-made character. The first and second Chars I loggedi nto after Patching.
    * I've tried every graphic setting Low/Off and turned back on individually at the lowest res, no difference.
    * My answer from Customer Service was to ensure I'm connected properly to the internet. I'm directly connected through ethernet cable...lol ffs.

    **TURNING OFF ESOHEAD WORKED**
It's because of how much exploring you have done in the map that has triggered the slowness!
Hopefully ESOhead peeps can use this information for the betterment of our gaming lives. <3

exactly the reason i *never* use any sort of add-ons in any mmo's. more trouble than worth.

Also make sure you are n0t running the launcher while playing the game, if the launcher is running in the background the game freezes for me every 30 seconds or so.

I always have the launcher running while playing, and no problems whatsoever. But closing down all other programs while gaming is always a good idea, especially in tis case, when the game is running in a window instead of true fullscreen mode.
