Philosophic lore: How exactly does one tune a frog?

So now that we can crafted untuned frog-caller instruments, it begs the question: how exactly does one tune a frog? Yank its legs? Squeeze its belly? The lore is silent on this issue, but I feel it's one of those things that, dangit, we need to know.

Well ya see, to tune a frog you need to learn to hop sideways. After all, hopping forward would just be acting as a frog. But that teaches you nothing! A frog knows how to tune itself not by learning, but by instinct. And as you're not a frog, you'll never have the instinct. But ah, to hop sideways? You would see the tune of the frogs, their harmonious croaks echoing in the swamps. Go now, and hop sideways, to see the song of the marsh!

In all seriousness, the frog-caller itself is probably meant to be tuned to the croaks of specific frogs. So it's probably just a matter of tightening or loosening the strings depending on what frog you're after.

I was stealing things in Murkmire and found a vossa-satl key. It descriprion said that the key tunes vossa-satl by changing the size of chambers. I guess not the frog ones, but chambers of the instrument.
