Just found out that account got 3 race and name change token. You have my gratitude for doing this.

And even if history has tired of drinking blood, that’s only in regards to the amount. But what about quality? The larger the sacrifice is, the more delighted the cruel gods will be.

    The reason is that without "Any race, any alliance" the token does not really work. At all.

    It does. Just not with all the other alliance races. Let’s not repeat the other thread though. This one here is to be grateful ZOS has increased the number of tokens from initially one to three and included name change tokens too. They didn’t have to do that at all.

    Well and that's the point. Thinking about it, the two possible changes without Any race any alliance might be Nord - Argonian and Bosmer - Khajiit, but that's it.
    Note that I am not whining - I am just giving an explanation. I would possibly only change my 30 lvl Dunmer magdk into Breton, if it worked, but this is not an issue as I can change her from magicka into stamina. Others, though, might have a problem with this.

    Nobody but a meta slave would want to change the race anyway, right? But I happily admit I am a proud meta slave and a lousy player, too.

    No it’s not. It’s not a “change into a race you like” or “change into a meta race” token. To anyone with a basic understanding how the game is set up it is crystal clear that the alliance restrictions apply. Just like with the token you actually can buy.

    Could they add a better disclaimer? Sure. I think you’re allowed to assume a certain measure of familiarity with the game and some intelligence though.

    I agree it was really nice. They could have done nothing at all and that would have been entirely justified as no race was changed so much as to not be viable for what it’s was role prior to this patch.

    Well, if a race change didn’t occur to you before, it’s nothing to lose your sleep over. The issue is people read that race X is now 1.47% better on a parse than class Y and think they absolutely need a race change now.

    ^This. I didn't have to change any but one character's race. Not because of the meta, but because my playstyle's changed drastically since I last played her. And now I can play her again! And by the time Elsweyr comes out, I'll have two character slots!

    Loved the free tokens. Changed my altmer sorcerer into .... an altmer sorcerer. Freeing his name and look for my future necromancer and making them distinct.

    As someone who's characters all have lore-friendly names that are appropriate for their race, I'm very glad ZOS listened and added the Name Change tokens.
