unknown file error, cannot DL the patch

asking on behalf of my partner. he’s having trouble DLing the wrathstone update due to the launcher giving him “unknown file error”. no error number, it just stops updating and it goes to repair... what could be causing it?

✭✭✭✭✭I had a similar issue. Never found a solution until I completely uninstalled and reinstalled. Hopefully someone will have a better answer than that. Good luck.0 -

at the moment it’s at 68% so hopefully this time it’ll just keep going til it completes...#teamEmeric1 -

✭✭✭I also had to reinstall. Took several hours. But then the login was only a minute or two, much shorter than expected.0 -

If it doesn't work you could copy your ESO folder to an external hard drive and then let your partner use that copy.
Keeping the copy up to date could also help in the future if anything like this happens again.

✭✭✭✭✭Just came here to say just that @Edaphon ! I have to wait on an IRL friend's install folder on stick - because my download died three times (once at 7%, twice at 21% - and now my bandwidth is WAY over my limit without actually having the update!)
I copy the entire folder to various places for backup.... and in case something is wonky somewhere/some time down the line, I'm safe.0
