I had no clue there are so many ppl hate animation canceling.
But honestly, this is so common now, getting rid of it only make this game on par with crappy korean mmo like bless.
Look at those big name competitive games. League of legend had this concept since the very start, that's 10 years ago.
Counter Strike you can swap weapon to animation cancel awp shot animation, it is been like this for 20 years.
Even For Honor, a mediocre at best online fighting game has animation canceling.
I don't see nothing wrong with zos trying to match the competitive games just like what ubisoft did.

Okay, I thought this was going to be another "I don't lyke tha anumashun cancels! Nerf dem plx! Kthanxbai!" thread, but I am happy to be wrong this time. I absolutely agree with you though, and I actually think the game should include a brief tutorial on how to do it, so it feels less achievable and less confusing for newer players and they'll be less prone to shrieking about getting rid of it.

Getting rid of it would substantially ruin combat. This is coming from someone who thinks AC is cheesy. Now It's part of the game meta and combat. To just get rid of it would require completely redoing combat. At this point ESO is what it is a action based hack and slash game with online multiplayer options. ESO at this point would have to gut the system and redo it to a hybrid tab target system.tam one really should have been thought out better it did nothing for preparing the player for veteran play.

You must be really bored to make a thread like this to bait all the anti animation canceling folks. It hasn't even been a hot topic for a while now, only for you to revive it

There are a couple of long anti-ani threads going currently where people who deliberately misunderstand LA weaving/canceling burble endlessly.

Off topic, but your username does not lend credibility to you. Both the troll part and the League reference which has a.... questionable community as far as toxicity and trolling goes.

Back on topic, animation canceling has been talked to death. But in the end there is no way to implement forced animations without drastically slowing combat. You can’t stick cast times on every ability (which is what attaching damage calculations to the end of animations will do) and expect people to still feel like it’s the same game. Many of the arguments against it are riddled with misinformation or entitlement when other people are more proficient at the game than they are.

It is simply not worth the complete overhaul that would be required to change animations, implement forced cast times for every ability, create a system that handles ‘valid’ canceling, and adjust all combat encounters around those forced animations.

There is a ton of cost, even more player dissatisfaction from the loss of ESO’s unique combat, and very little gain.

I am not against animation canceling
