No one has to race change if they don't want to.
Of course, ZOS doesn't have to offer anything either.
Nevertheless, ZOS changed quite a bit, both from a meta and a lore perspective, and definitely incentivized some races that previously had been dramatically underperforming.
So for anyone looking at their character lineup and wanting a lot of race changes, I can see where 3 is not sufficient and 20% is a minor discount compared to the changes ZOS made.
The race changes hit an area of the game that is explicitly monetized with the race change tokens and so I expect every player to have a different opinion on what exactly would constitute an acceptable discount. As you prove. The real test is taking place with ZOS' pocketbook with how many people are satisfied with their 3, and how many people actually buy more at their current discount.5 -

From a lore perpective, Bosmers have been ripped of one of their most fundamental traits, and Khajiits are extremely incentivized as a good replacement if one wants to play anything sneaky. I'd call that "a freaking huge change" rather than "a bit", but the rest of the post I do agree with

Unless your favorite gameplay was forcefully removed from your character and leaves you unable to keep playing the same way. You know what i'm talking about, and it's likely we won't agree on that, ased on our past exchanges. Still, don't dismiss the "magnitude" of changes, for some people it's quite a huge change. Pretty much anyone playing a Bosmer.2 -

What about people who have max number of toons and like me have been here since Beta? Just to **** with us, right? Who cares if we might have 5 years invested in our toons. Who cares if this game and the toons we have spent hundreds and sometimes thousands of hours now have to be changed. Choose 3 and just shut up I guess.4 -

If you really feel this desperate need to change 15 characters' races because of minor min-max issues.... honestly, that feels like it's on you, not them. (I mean, do you really need all of your characters to be Absolutely Perfect Meta for your day-to-day gaming? You can't manage just doing your most important HM Trial toons?)
I'd happily trade you my 3 tokens if I could, since I don't see any reason to use them.2 -

✭✭I have 10 maxed out characters and after the patch I realized I dont need to change any of them, each race has a niche now and if you use it correctly they will be very good.
3 free tokens is more than enough imo, people who think they need more than that are just overracting1
