Quest goal reset?

So, once again I was on a quest and had the objective complete before I could do anything, because someone was obliterating every living thing in the dungeon, and killed my targets before I even saw them. It's happened OFTEN.
Each other time, I've had to reset the WHOLE quest line, and it's always a pain in the neck. Tonight, it was a Public Dungeon, which takes more time, which makes it even MORE of a pain in the neck.
My suggestion, as it has been before, is that we be given a way to back a quest up without quitting, so we can replay a prior quest goal.

✭Yeah, wish it weren't the case. Had times where I walked in the door for a final epic battle and was done before I finished loading in.
When I see other players on the same stage I usually wait a bit because more often than not they're just rushing through the dialogue, so they'll be far ahead if I give 'em 30 seconds while I grab a drink or something.1
