Why doesn't Blazing Spear/ Luminous Shards proc back bar enchants...

...but other ground AoEs like Wall of Elements and Volley do (at least I think volley does, haven't tested it but I read it somewhere me thinks)?

I'd love to be able to proc my infused back bar Weapon/Spell damage enchant from the back bar like you can with Wall of elements.

I just don't understand the reasoning or logic for the different "rules" here for relatively similar ground based AoEs. Perhaps someone could enlighten me

has to be a weapon ability.

I see. I guess that makes sense now that I overlooked that point. Too bad skills can't proc enchants or perhaps it would cause too many balancing issues.

Thanks for the short but insightful reply.

I know I'll get some flack for saying this, but It should have a root imo since we already have javelin and toppling charge for stun options aside from weapon skill stuns.

Would be great utility for PVP and help templar tanks out too like DKs claws or wardens impaling shards for example.

I recently learned this as well. It has to be an ability from the weapon skill line, which to me is pretty poor design, because it forces players into using certain weapons. Bows and destro staves are a part of every single build in the game for pve.

If any ground targetted aoe could proc enchants like spear shards or liquid lightning or even caltrops, this would allow players to back bar two handers, resto staves, etc.

ship has sailed; templar in a balanced spot just needs bug fixes, passive rework, and underused abilities to be revamped.

I do agree that Templar is relatively balanced. Selfishly I still wish I could justify replacing sweeps with shards and a stun/immobilize would do that for my particular build.

Regarding shards, I play a healer. Wouldn't mind changing the morphs so both offer good damage but one provides dual resource synergy and the other has no synergy but roots those in the radius. That sounds like it might work for magplar dps, healers and tanks.

I've never considered Templar for tank due to lack of CC. A 28m AoE that can aggro like volly/caltrops and root like talons would be lovely.
