Beginner friendly class?

If you had to recommend a class to a beginner, what would it be and why? I’ve tried PvP on and off, and while I liked it I had a hard time getting the hang of it. I was running with a MagDK. I want to give it a real shot with a character dedicated to PvP. I’ll start with non-CP campaigns and BGs since I’m not max CP.

If you want easiest stamina class, try stamina warden. Because good damage and good defense.
If you want easiest magicka class, try magicka sorcerer. Because good shields that give good defense.
If you want best of the best class, try stamina nightblade. Because you can reset fights, have the highest damage, good heals through vigor and good defense.

mDK is the easy mode dueling class but outside of duels it can be tricky to get the hang of.

Wait, aren't you that magblade main? No wonder why are you calling MagDK an easy mode.

For some reason, everyone points to a mag sorc as the easy magicka option and they point to shields as the reason for that. But, they forget that shields do not unlock until level 30 in the skill line. So if you are leveling the character and learning, you do not have the primary defensive option even available to you until a decent chunk of time in.

Imo, Magplar is the easiest mag class for beginner. Tons of healing. Your main spammable also heals you and is the first skill unlock. You don't have to worry about non-class spammables, so you can use any weapon set that you feel comfortable with, including sword and shield for more defense. Your first skill in each line are extremely useful early on and all can contribute to a build immediately. And your Ultimates are far more useful for both damage and defense.

If you can't decide best bet is Mag Templar a good solid class with good skills, healing and good damage abilities probably the best beginner class if your looking for something more DPS oriented you could try Nightblade or Stam Warden if PVP is your thing just stay away from the Sorcerer class if nothing else a class that has been beat nearly to death with nerfs

I also play on PC from time to time but I just wanna be left alone on there so sorry.

Magplar, Stam Blade and Stam Warden. Can throw in shield stacking sorc for good luck.

Magplar is probably the easiest as others have said you have solid healing good damage option and good ults.

You can be useful in many ways with a Templar even while still leveling.

Magplar seems to be the consensus. I assume light armor since its Magicka? Any sets that stand out for magplar?

If you aren’t that experienced light armor can lead to quick deaths. But there’s more crafting options now to be a bit tankier in light while maintaining light armor benefits. All depends on your gear and traits.

Try heavy armor magplar with either shackle and brb or shackle and axiom/overwhelming. Overwhelming is easy set because it's extra free damage and procs concussion. Use lighting staff and sword&board then slot elemental drain and total dark skills. This should be fairly easy/new player friendly build.

I didn’t find magplar that easy in BGs. You can contribute but it’s hard to shine, those that play it well are really good.

If you go magplar I’d suggest spinners and cyrodiil’s light (I think that’s what it’s called, reduced damage while channeling).

While leveling I don’t think class matters too much. If you’re in it for the long haul and want to master a class and not be disappointed, I think every class can do well except magblade, and even then magblade is fun just not effective.

Looking for any guildies I used to play with:
    Havoc Warhammer - Alair
LoC EQ2 - Mayi and Iskiab
PRX and Tabula Rasa - Rift - Iskiab
Or anyone else I used to play games with in guilds I’ve forgotten

They're all the same. Stay away from nightblade, it's a nub class that only works for ganking and 1v1.

    Guy above me is right.

If i had to say one that is easier than the others, I would go with magicka Templar.

you can literally level up using just one skill that heals and does damage at the same time.

Not to mention the class has the biggest heal.

You can also play them very tanky and still get good damage.

I find that it also has good synergy with Vampire.

Breton Magplar with stage 4 vamp for that sweet resistances and sustain. Just try not to stand in any dawnbreaker's .

There’s no easy mode class. The closest thing might be Magicka Templar because of breath of life spam. But it takes some practice to be able to kill good players.

Not looking for 'easy mode' as I know PvP requires a lot of skill. Was looking for beginner friendly, so a class that's easy to learn with decent skills and defense for a player who is still learning that aspect of the game.

Blending the disciplines of the stealthy agent and subtle wizard, I move unseen and undetected, foil locks and traps, and teleport to safety when threatened, or strike like a viper from ambush. The College of Illusion hides me and fuddles or pacifies my opponents. The College of Mysticism detects my object, reflects and dispels enemy spells, and makes good my escape. The key to a nightblade's success is avoidance, by spell or by stealth; with these skills, all things are possible."

@mursie That's quite similar to mine, except I'm running BSW with an inferno. Any reason why dual wield swords is used? I assume for the dual wield passive?

Nah stamplar is not a beginner friendly class. Sustain is tricky, you’ve gotta time all your damage really well, heavy armor stamplar is a bit lack luster and medium survivability is something that takes time to learn. New or unskilled stamina Templar’s that I come across really go down fast.

    two reasons for DW.

    1. i don't have to have a destro staff ability on bar when i'm dw. next patch this won't be as big of an issue
    2. attacking with dual wield just feels more clean than doing weaves with the staff. definitely a preference thing
