[ IDEA ]CUSTOME DUNGEON

I have no clue how it work, or how it look like. I just think it's kool if player can make a dungeon by themself and challenge other. It will make end game become more flexible . I think the system will be something similar to housing system. It will be fun if we can build something with our friend.

Like a fashion show that you can queue up for as a contestant / spectator. You can use all your attire that you have and make the best best costume
People can spectate and vote on the best. You win x rewards for 1st 2nd and 3rd. I Know alot of gaps on how the same person doesn't get spectator vs contestant multiple times. But maybe different queues? Thinking out loud. Could be cool. Could also see more in flux to the crown store. Which could also be a ill favored.

    From natch potes v4.3.0

"The Elinhir Private Arena: Pit Fighting promoter Crottus "Thumbs-Down" Lycus built this private arena atop the haunted ruins of Molavar because the land was cheap, and what could go wrong? He vanished mysteriously some time ago, and now his unique Arena Home is back on the market. This remarkable home includes levers that activate various environmental hazards in the middle of the arena. These hazards include lightning, fire blasts and spinning blades, each with their own distinct properties and behaviors."

Just a matter of time. A lot of time sadly

It's possible, but might not be a reasonable expenditure of resources.

You can, absolutely, create user friendly content generation tools. They'd never be as sophisticated as what you could do with the actual, in-house, tools. But it is possible.

That said, you're talking about a significant dedication of resources for a relatively small payoff. There's a lot of considerations, like render budget, that players would chafe over, without really understanding why those limitations are in place.

Is it a cool idea? Yes.

    Is it possible? Yes.

Is it feasible? Maybe, not so much.

I would love the idea. Especially if we could build and mix boss fights from already existing Dungeon, Trial and World Bosses and play with their stats a little bit. And also make different mixtures of mobs.

Other games, decades old, managed to achieve this. Map/level creation for players is hardly a new aspect of gaming.

I imagine it would only be possible (or certainly more likely) for the PC version, but you never know.

A new category of Q in the dungeon finder could be added "custom" where one can Q up to get placed in a custom made dungeon (no xp or armor degradation etc). Zoz could set certain parameters to be required for any custom dungeon made to be allowed into the Q, so that they meet basic standards (max enemies etc). Before leaving a dungeon players could be presented with a quick survey to rank the dungeon (higher ranked dungeons are raised in the Q likelihood), and the option to bookmark it to Q for it specifically in future. We'd also need a simply way to scroll through all qualifying custom dungeons, each would need a short description from the creator.

The system I have described above, literally exists in other games that are very old now indeed. Far Cry 3 was it?

    Just thinking out loud.

hope that 1 day we can have something like that. It's very kool if we can build something together with our guild mate and then pass our legacy for next generation

    You "forgot" the "OTHER" option.

Other: Why would any sane person want to do this?

consider the requirements for such a thing to occur

    1) devs would have to allow access to their creation tools so that player built maps and encounters could be made to mesh with the existing game frame without infringing on any NDA, trademark, creative property laws or posing any threat to the game code by external means

    2) the created dungeon would have to be submitted for approval by the devs/IP owners to ensure it complied with their guidelines and didnt contain any "back doors" or hidden code

    3) it would then have to loaded into the game files through an update

and finally .... what you think might be a great idea doesnt always mean other people think its a great idea

    EDIT

generally when people think they have a good idea or a simple solution it only means they dont understand the complexities involved

(and thats not because theyre stupid or anything its just that they havnt been told all the nitty gritty little details that comprise the situation)
