I'm just changing my Dunmer to an Altmer. I prefer how Dunmer looks in general, but with the tweak that gets rid of my edge damage wise whilst at the same time gimping my sustain, I'd rather switch to the class with superior sustain, since sustain has been an issue before the nerf anyway.

I'm staying as an Altmer and making my necromancer one, who I will most likely be main swapping to. I'm a fan of elves and magic. They just fit that so well.

I created characters, not toons. Each has a backstory and each is special to me. I am too attached to them to simply warp and twist them to be someone else.

Besides, I don't do any endgame content, I don't need a second job, mine is exhausting enough. I play games to relax and reduce my daily stack of stress. I can adapt to the new racial passives changes.

Well, bar one, but still, I am not just throwing my Laielena away. *grumble*grumble*Bosmer need stealth, not some laughable stealth detection.*grumble*grumble*

    I'm undecided.

All of my characters have excellent names for their race and class. I could safely switch between altmer, bosmer and dunmer but that's all. If so I might be changing altmer and or bosmer to dunmer.

But I'm also presently undecided about class. I love warden in theory but with only 4 magicka dps abilities it's super boring.

Should I go back to my original main, a sorc? If so, should I race change him?

Since I'm into crafting and trying to get into housing, should I reconsider nightblade, since stealing and murdering is how you get most recipes and that one class has distinct advantages? Are those advantages worth starting the horse feeding grind from scratch? Again. I've done it waaaay too many times.

Should I wait to see what necromancer offers?

I'd like to eventually have 1 of each race and have 2 argonians atm, so one of them may change but otherwise the racial changes mostly didn't affect my characters enough to warrant changes.

Even though I am somewhat competitive about PvP, I also enjoy the role-playing element of the game and am attached to my older, most-played characters. Among them are Breton twin sisters. Although one of them turned stamsorc, I couldn't take her away from her twin. Since I prefer playing humans, my racial choices are also limited in the first place.

With racial passives becoming absolute values, I think your race will matter less in PvP. Getting a decent amount of the opposite stat is useful there. As a further example, take a Breton's magicka cost reduction. It can help a stamsorc with Dark Deal and Streak, a stam DK with wings, a stamblade with cloak, shade and fear, a templar with cleanse, and a warden with Shimmering Shield.

I know most people go for the damage stats, but for a balanced PvP build it's really just a question of adjusting your build to the race. Depends how much you value utility as a stamina character and stamina sustain as a magicka one, I suppose. I can only tell you how nice it is to run the Bull Netch on a magicka warden, for example, and not having to worry about stamina sustain.

I'm so new and I want to get in to the endgame of PvE/PvP but I'm also not one to follow trend. I love my Argonian and his name Gex the Lizard (for those who remember Gex the Gecko). So even if they dip down a bit in the tank world I'm still going to rock. I love the Argonian race, if it becomes that big of a gap then maybe I'll consider. But I always play what I love and do very well.

My Khajiit Stamblade will be converted into either a Stam Bowtard or a Magblade. Depending on the result I may change the race after more Meta builds and sets come around to make the choice easier.

The Warden Argonian tank may as well be turned into a healer and depending on the changing Meta perhaps change to a Breton? A friend of mine wants to try tanking and I might as well give healing a go in a parallel.

The Templar Orc I am levelling I don't care for so no plans.

My previous main, the Redguard StamSorc tank, will stay a Redguard because there is no better race for crafting (balanced).

None of the character above I really care about (anymore) so purely adjusting the play style to be more ranged because ZOS punished us Aus/NZ players with extra ping and DK is the only melee (I primarily tank) class still worth bothering with. Only keeping the other classes around as a back-up in case ZOS breaks my current chosen main.

My current main, the StamDK Dunmer, is a vampire, so I will leave it as it is because the hybrid design suits what I do with her as well as makes me feel better about the vampire weakness. Every passive seems to be a buff on PTS so I'm happy with that. Originally made her to be a fire magDK but alas ZOS showed me the finger and she's been a forced 4 month project while un-subbed.

No. Because I have only one character. And that is a Bosmer. I will never play anything else.
So, if I will loose my stealth, the game is over for me, because I am too stupid to fight. Max 4k dps. And can't do more. So I need the stealth...

My Bosmer magplar = my main with most content achieved. I tried race changes on PTS and nothing looks good. He’s mostly for crafting and Cadwell’s Gold anyway so not worth it to change. Gonna enjoy those 3 free skill points for crafting though!

My Bosmer Stamblade = never changing it, that is a part of his character down to the marrow, pun intended. He was my carryover character from previous rpgs and further back. His character means too much to me, it makes me nauseous thinking about changing him.

My Bosmer Warden = maybe change to Imperial, maybe keep, undecided. Imperial can be cute but it’s not easy to make. I was hoping to make him my second DB and TG character so I can choose the opposite answers from how I chose on my Nightblade. He has a Celtic name and a background thats not based in Valenwood so changing to Imperial won’t be as devastating.

My Bosmer stamDK = the only character I play to be selfish and be a pvp meanie so not changing it. The passive will make him the best at trolling now. Not only will he Fossilize, talon, Silver Leash and chain you, but you also can’t catch him after he plants a nice big one in your neck with extra pen on top of his major fracture. Thanks Zos, you got your wish! Pvp cheese is flowing, my salt collection is renewed. Oh man, might as well make him a werewolf too! I tested it. Pressing roll dodge (I have it bound to a single key) while in WW form still applies the Hunter’s Eye passive so I’m churning the cheese as we speak!

My Bosmer Sorc = retired when I heard Necromancer was coming out. Since he’s a stamSorc the rolypoly might suit him best. Can’t streak while holding flags but he can roll all day. Yeah, might keep it. Most likely I’ll wait until Necromancer arrives before making any decisions on this.

Breton Magsorc = might become a Necromancer, might change, it doesn’t matter, he’s a max level bank at this point.
Imperial Stamplar tank = no changes
Imperial magDk tank = no changes

Thanks for putting extra cheese in the pvp crust Zos! You did it! You destroyed 5 games worth of lore to be more unbalanced! Yeehaw!

I min/max everything. 1% or 10% nerf is too much.

I'll be race changing my dark elf dk to altmer. Dark elf sorc is going altmer. Breton templar healer stays the same. Imperial tank is going nord. Dark elf nightblade is going altmer. The breton warden healer stays breton.

I don't care how small the difference, it matters to push #1 scores in trials.
Whatever is best in slot is what I roll.

I don't have characters, they are my tools to achieve placement on leaderboards. I don't give two f*ucks what they look like or what race is more appropriate lore wise for them. I'd change race in a heartbeat even if it meant only 1 more max magicka or spell damage.

The only thing i´ll switch are my magica argonian characters (mostly).

Personally i felt argonian was too good to pass up on for 4 out of 5 classes magica builds in pvp. This issues gets fixed - i´ll keep 2 out of 5 argonian (which fits the free respecs nicely by coincidence): Templar and warden.

Every other race i have feels like they either got buffed (yes even highelf) or stay roughly the same.

This is ofc purely from a pvp pov.

I wouldn't be too worried. They should be near the top for tanks and decent Stam dd's. And very easy to switch from one to the other. I'm genuinely excited about my imperial.

With Zo$ greed tactics on the race change bs, I will use the tokens they give but not invest anymore money into the game till they start treating their longtime costumers better. At least this has pushed me and a lot of guildies into playing other PvP games that have a lot better communication with the devs and better performance. :*

    My main reasons are:
    • No need to optimize perfectly, as long as the race/class choice makes reasonable sense.
    • Attachment to particular characters, their looks, etc.

The toughest one for me, as for many people, is a Bosmer thief. I don't want to give him up as the character he is, either through a Khajit conversion, vamping, or both, but I also don't want to play him as being less of a thief than he's been for years.

Here I am wondering what makes people keep their races?

For me it goes as so

Bosmer Sorc healer - orginally picked bosmer cause it connected most to me on emotional level... thought sorc was an accident. I sometimes think to turn it to altmer but just feels wrong.

imperial dk tank - XD cause wanted to try meta for once. Didn't work out very well and was a shield tank before it was meta then I just let character float around till I finish it's new concept. I will be keeping it because I am a purest and imperial seems like a traditional tank over nord. I want to be that gal who rezzing group from 7 wipes and not that one who toots more horns as a tank.

Reguard Nightblade - I can't remember if I made this as a tank first or a dps.. but it still works for both well so keeping it.

Breton Dk Healer - I originally made this to stack resistances, but found it goes well with sustain issues for class. Also dk healers are really good in pvp so extra ap gain is nice. Also now it makes really good dps if I want to go that route later.

Dummer Nightblade - Made it for fire damage and extra dps on nightblade, but will keeping it as sometime to maybe a hybrid out of as dps or just a healer/dps role. Either way works

Altmer templar - I will be keeping it cause I am too lazy to switch and skill could make dps/healer hybrid with it.

Khajitt Warden - I will be keeping it for my stamina healer or stamina dps cause it still works well and even better then before.

Orc Sorc tank - This is only race concept that got destoryed for me. I made this one for regain stats, but I kinda think my concept would do better as a bersker tank who loses health and uses sorc excess block migration to compensate for a lack of resistances.

So tldr for me it's laziness, attachement, and finding new ideas to use current race of character is why I keep my characters. On that note I change them when my concept no longer works or can't find another to use with that race.

This one couldnt be more pleased with the changes to the khajiiti people´s racials. Loads of fun to be had next patch yes?

I'm not going to change my race because I'm not going to be suckered in to ZOS' marketing ploy of giving players 3 freebie changes now, and then changing things back to make them pay for a race change again. I don't like where things are going and I see no statement or insightful plan of where they intend to truly take things. They don't know what they are going to do with the CP system and they are freezing any increases in it. So until that is solved. I will be freezing my wallet, and not buying anything more from ZOS.
