Turning Footsteps Volume Down Reduces Lag

According to Reddit user u/Shaine_Memes, this helped reduce the disconnects he was experiencing for him and his group on PS4. Has anyone tried this, and if so, does it help with lag? Here is the original post:

This was a long-time issue on consoles that I believe they've acknowledged before? This was one of the band-aid fixes for a lot of PS4/Xbox crashes in Trials for a while, IIRC.

✭✭✭✭✭Oddly enough footstep noises in games irritate me so I always turn them down to 0 or almost 0. I can see how turning them off could reduce lag as that just less to process.

YES. Everything on the UI was touched by the head boss and since then never inspected until players got sick of lag enough to dive under the hood to try anything out.
