Question re: Character Creator

When using the above function is it on a timer? I keep getting kicked back to the start up menu stating there's a connection issue. Yet when I'm in-game, there are no disconnects other than if I'm standing around idle for X amount of time. When in the CC does the game consider you as being idle?

It's annoying af and now on my 4th attempt. I'd see the point if I was taking hours, but most of the time it's kicking me out the game after 5 mins or so.

I haven't ever figured out what the timer is on, but yeah - there's definitely some form of timer or idle kick. I was creating a character once and sitting on the name keyboard as I thought through my name and bang - off. Had to re-make the whole guy.

There is an idle kick..possibly after 3 - 4 minutes (? - estimated, it happened to me once) of zero activity, but I honestly don't believe there is a timer. I get way deep into OCD mode in character creation, and can easily spend an hour or more tweaking and messing without worrying about being kicked. Go afk for a couple of minutes, you risk.

If you're getting kicked from character creation without going afk or not touching your character for less than a couple of minutes, there's something wrong.

I just gave up. Kept doing it. Like i said, no issues with disconnections when I'm in-game.

I think the timer starts when you log in (the start of the load screen, not when you reach the character screen).

Then when you're creating a character you're still up against that first timer. As far as the server's concerned you're still at the character selection screen.

If I'm going to spend a long time in the character creator, I might log into another character then log out first to reset the timer.

Good to know. I at least know I'm not going crazy. Makes sense about logging fully in with one character to reset the timer. What a silly thing to implement.
