Why did you pick that race?

I love creating characters! For me, gameplay is only a small part of the choice - appearance and backstory of the character are the biggest factors. As mentioned by others, the character ideas I get often are pretty clear as to what race, but if it's just human or elf, then I'll consider the racial passives in relation to the weapon and skills I think fit with their personality. Hair and eye colors available to that race are often a bigger factor than the passive abilities.

Other, as in it's not flavour and it's not just performance either. I wanted to play a thief / sneaky character, just like in every other elder scrolls since Morrowind. So, just like in any other Elder Scrolls since Morrowind, I played a Bosmer.

Just from that, you probably can tell I'm not that thrilled by update 21.

Have to say Argonians are my least favorite race in all of tamerial. They all should just stay in their swamps and keep to themselves lol.

When i said this, i thought the consensus was that argonians were the worst race still. time sure have changed.

When I started playing on console release I picked a Nord Stam DK because at the time I didn’t think race mattered that much and I liked Nords. I’m glad I did though because I turned it into a tank to run group stuff with my mates. So it actually turned out very good.

It's a mix of performance and flavor.

All of my stamina toons are Imperial and all of my magicka toons are Breton. My head canon is that they're brothers from the Imperial "House Valerius of Nibenay". Their father was Imperial while their mother was Breton.

Imperials were approx. 3rd best stamina DPS and Tank while Bretons were approx. 3rd best magicka DPS and Healers, so for my purposes, it was really nice.

I wanted to make an imperial nightblade. During beta I created a Breton instead. I made screenshots of the sliders when I was finished.
Then during early access I created am imperial character. But I wasn't really happy with him during creation.
I remembered the great times with my Breton during beta.
So I recreated him exactly as he was during beta.

luckily, my races kinda fit to the classes, i want them to be (according to my achetypes, i am using anyway)

bow - woodelve
tank - black guy
magician - pale human
and so on

This one can only play Khajiit in any TES game ever. While this one tried to chase the meta and changed to an Orc and a Highelf once....playing without a fur and a tail felt wrong. So.... "Cool /Flavor" is the choice for this one, no?

Multiple reasons, and the latest was created simply because I didn't have an Imperial. Having one of each lets me change to a different character when balance changes, rather than re-roll one.
