Bone Pirate vs. Battlefield Acrobat?

Has any of our "maths guys" taken a look into comparing Bone Pirate and Battlefield Acrobat? Is the later of these better than the former under any circumstances? Does stamrecovery/stamcost enchants make any difference on one or another? Any special kind of builds/playstyle benefit more from Battlefield Acrobat? I'm a bit curious but I'm not good enough at these numbers, and I'm frankly a bit lazy too.

Battlefield acrobat is a better sustain. It also affects magicka skills, ultimates, dodge, block, sprint, break free and sneak. However Bone Pirate gives you stamina as well, overall better damage (not by much, just enough to keep things in balance).

IMO Battlefield acrobat is a better stamNB body set as long you have spriggan as it makes Cloak cheaper too.

Go with what feels good. If you drop ults allot, BA is a nice set because itdrops the cost of your ultimates too.

If you like more stamina/raw Regen, can't go wrong with bonepirate.

If you hate farming gear in pve, don't even think about bonepirate lol. BA is a cheap set to buy too and drops in PvP.

Thanks for your words of wisdom. I was primarily thinking of using it or bone pirate for a bit low sustain build. Max stamina is a bit low already, so I think I'll need to stick with old Pirate. But I will keep that in mind for other builds. I really like Marksman, the cost reduction does make a difference. So I'm eager to try it sometime. I have the jewelry of BA, but not the weapons I want. But it's just a matter of time. :-)

Is it intended to drop the cost of ultimates? With the description being abilities I’d assumed it didn’t include ultimates. Might give it a go, I’d stuck with BP since I had it but that’s a nice boost to get Ulti cost too

Bone pirate for raw stats, BA for pure sustain(at least in theory). I personally think bone pirate seems better but I haven't tried it yet.

Edit: I've finally tried it. Its not as bad as I thought, but certainly not meta worthy either.

So, tell me, why did this thread deserve to come back from the dead? I know we're getting necromancers, but not like this.

Also, if you're trying to find sustain and cost reduction, VO is far more appealing. If you're having issues managing your resources, and you're using Throne, then Bone Pirate appeals. If you have more money than sense, sure, grab Battlefield Acrobat. Or mix 'n match. It depends on what your build is doing, and struggling with. If you're having serious sustain issues, I'd point you towards working on your rotation and including better uptime for resource returns like Leeching or the Netch, rather than pointing you towards a set solution.

Strange, i never go past the first page and i don't remember getting to this thread through search, no idea how i ended up here.

Still, we've seen worse necro than a 5 days old post :)

I can't see the need to post some kind of "funny" meme every time someone writes in a thread that's not as fresh like the day's catch. Same thing with "Google it", when someone asks something. With this logic, there would be very sparse content around.

Battlefield Acrobat is still a pretty new set, and I really don't see a problem with the discussion going on for quite a while longer; especially instead of someone starting a new thread because they have a little extra question/something to add.

Anyway, it felt like a pretty great set for sustain. I'm surprised so few still run it.

Agreed. This topic was made after the murkmire launch anyway, so how could the content here be outdated by any means?

Back to topic, we had the same discussion about battlefield acrobat vs bone pirate in my PvP guild and one of our stamdens tested both sets against each other thoroughly. He really liked battlefield acrobat because it also reduces ultimate cost. Imo, both sets seem pretty even and I guess acrobat is a good choice for anyone who wants to try out another stam sustain set.

    Yeah.
I have a Nord StamDK, that I'm either gonna race change, or make some sort of Ultimate spammer. I probably need a sustain set, and as this one decrease Ultimate cost too, i will consider it. :-)

What’s wrong about it is that people pull up posts of already changed things from people complaining before it was Changed and it confuses people and b/c brain cells are so hard to find they advocate nerfs and buffs of something that does not exist in that state and it can potentially cause more people to do the same thing. There is this thing called going to the forums and making a new post as it clearly is stated that they don’t want prior posts revived anyway.

Say average cost of skills is 2500, say you use one every second in combat. So it equals 300 main stat recovery in the best situation, but also some offstat recovery although significantly less as you tend not to use your offstat abilities on cooldown, and you loose the mainstat recovery when not actually using mainstat abilities. Added bonus is the reduction on ultimate cost.

If I were to guess it would probably end up being something like 200 mainstat recovery and 50 offstat recovery, plus the 6% reduction on ultimate cost.

I like using Battlefield Acrobat on my Stam DK since it reduces cost of all skills and abilities. Cheaper magicka costs for utility skills and cheaper ultimates for more sustain are very nice.

My guess is that someone was curious about the topic thread and believed that it would be more efficient to have the older statements readily on record so they would not be repeated and thus make the discussion more efficient.

It feels particularly great on a StamDK, and I guess for any race with no recovery bonus. I just wait for people to actually discover this. :-)

I recently came back to this set again and I must say, If your playstyle involves a lot of block casting, bash cancelling, running around and just smashing a lot of buttons like morrowind never happened , this set is better than bone pirate.

The more skills you spam the more value you get out of this.
