Nah , still , one of my guildmates became the emperor from what i understood , atleast his/her name was at the top score board.

I voted no because there are people that exploit the mechanics in PvP to be at the top. I mentioned before that its pretty broken when the top guy has more than double the next highest guy.. like 400k to 190k. So there is no point to trying. Supposedly it's fixed but at the same time no point to trying since I work 8-5 at Intel and I can't no life PvP to be emporer.. there is more to the game

Maybe the emperor title should not have been attainable until the game was in full swing? I mean official release isn't even here and people have 300k AP from a quest no longer available. Factions fighting in mass numbers versus little to no opposition and controlling the full map etc...

Voted yes because of the skill line unlock, and I almost had it in beta :P

I don't care about PvP, and don't plan to engage in it, so whether or not the title exists, is not important to me.

This thread will be skewed based on the fact that many know they will never have the opportunity to become the emperor. With that precedent set, many will say they don't care for the system by default.

I, on the other hand, see validity in the system because of what the emperor can do. The system itself has gone through a variety of nerfs in beta, lessening the power of the emperor. Still, in the right hands, the emperor will make a significant impact in whichever battle he/she participates in.

Eventually, when ZOS fully implements the Imperial City, the emperor will likely play an even more significant role in the Alliance War. We'll have to see how things progress, but I'm under the impression players will want to care who their emperor is just as much as how their alliance is faring in AvA.

There can be like 50 emperors at once (thanks to the multiple campaigns), so it is a pointless title.

As a former Rank 14 at wow and Player in one of the top guilds there I must say that I never cared what others did while we had our "fame".

I know people who always congratulated us or wanted to be our "friend", but I never understood that hype.

Its a list with a name, be it at wow or here at TESO. To me that person is not important, nor would I feel important if I would have that title.

Achievements in games are not really hard, its a lot about time and the support that you have. A person who plays an hour a day will never be an Emperor, therefore this whole title makes no real sense. Its a title given for people who are pro gamers, who play games for a living, therefor only important for them.

I do care about it, I find it a bit of a pity that only maybe 1% of the playerbase will ever experience it.

I don't care about who specifically has it, but which Alliance has the Emporership overall is an important thing to any one campaign - having the Empress/or fighting for you can swing the favour in a surprisingly dramatic fashion.

Your description is pretty confusing. A vote for "no" is "no" to all of those things? Some of those things? Only those things? What?

Anyway, I voted "no" as in I'm not concerned if I become Emperor. I try not to take MMOs seriously enough these days that I'd stand a chance to become Emperor. However, this doesn't mean that I think that it's a bad system. On the contrary, I like the Emperor mechanic a lot. I'm really not even sure what you're talking about with this "nothing is likely to change if the players don't care" business. I don't want anything to change, especially right now. We're a week into launch. Most people are nowhere near level cap. Those who've tried PvP a bit are very likely in the learning stages. Nothing is really orgranized except maybe a bit on Auriel's Bow. Your description implies that there's something broken here but there is literally no way for anyone to meaningfully say that given these conditions.

I'm not even sure in what way you think it's broke. I'm assuming it has something to do with how few people will be able to get the title. If that's the case, what you consider broke is to me working perfectly. I'd really prefer only a handful of people who play quite a bit to be able to become Emperor. I want the title to have meaning and I want the people who get it to actually be online while they're Emperor.

If your complaint is that the methods for getting points are poor, I disagree. You get as many points for killing a player solo as you do for participating in a keep take. They've also recently made it easier to get points from healing. I've even heard of people getting high in the rankings from repairing walls and such. There are numerous ways to get ahead that involve fighting players as well as helping out your alliance in general. I've heard complaints about the quests, too, but that was changed. I'd also restate what I said above about how meaningless it is to talk about whether AvA is broken at the moment.

Oh, I should've read the whole thread I guess. Yes I definitely disagree with you here. I really do want it to be that hard to become Emperor, even if it means that I will probably never become Emperor.
