Wow. The things you don't know. Gonna have to take a look at that! Of course, that wouldn't likely keep me from selling a stolen item I meant to launder.... which of course is gone forever.... unless you can lock stuff like that too?
I crafted and golded out a complete set of gear before realizing I forgot to do a trait when crafting it. That one hurt.
When I started playing one of my friends told me to be sure I locked all my gear... so, thankfully, this hasn't been a problem for me.

You cannot, but I found that always starting with laundering instead of selling greatly helps
