I picked Khajiit.

Reason for that, is because I've played Khajiit back in good old Morrowind.
And ever since then it feels wrong to play any other race.
I've tried. But I always return to the Khajiit.

I have a tradition of playing Imperials since it became possible in MW - because I like Roman-y stuff, which includes watching series like Rome and Spartacus (for all obvious reasons

) and wearing a shirt of Legio XII.

While I have a whole bunch of different characters in ESO, my first and main character is an Imperial.

Same here. I usually have a 'starting point' or reason for making the character which narrows down my options, but the final choice is always based on what I think fits rather than what's considered good currently.

I've always played Imperials. Hurt a little that I had to pay extra for the privilege, but IMO it was worth it.

I'm connecting to my character the way I would in any single-player TES game.

I'm a casual player anyway, so scores aren't something I'm worried about. As long as it gets the job done, I'm good.

Not sure what "Cool/Flavor" is. I rarely eat my characters, and the only cold ones should be the Argonians.

Chasing performance is like a cat chasing a string. It's fun, but it's a lot of work, and if they ever catch it, it just gets taken away.

I just play the race that best fits my mental picture of what the character should look like.

If I was going to play character for performance then easiest way just have a slot or character you are ready to delete then pay to power level it. The issue is people who pick performance get attached to their characters too, hence in the end we are all same.

templar because i always go for holy knights/paladins/valkyries
nord because it is my favorite elder scrolls race. i love norse mythology and such, plus i am not a milk drinker!

years later she is still the only character i really use

RP should be an option, as with any TES game I choose a race and design by the backstory and lore I want my character to have.

Sure, performance is a factor, as is looks, but ultimately for me it's the story I want my character to have.

Unfortunately the only race thats locked behind an upgrade has historically only been good at one niche role. Now the only race that is still locked behind an “upgrade” is the worst race to play as in any circumstance. Thats right @ZOS gutted my favorite race, the imperials. Im not upset because they necessarily gutted my “thing”, like when all the cry babies cried about the sorc’s shield. That needed to be nerfed, it was way to powerful. But you have the one race thats locked behind a paywall and you make it to have no incentive to play as. As the imperials can play any alliance they should have been a jack of all trades that perfom fairly across all roles. But no, ZOS had to gut them for no reason

I used to have a variety of races on characters, but my Argonians were always my favorite and the more I learned about them, the more I liked them. Eventually I changed them all to Argonians. Wish they were (end game) better for anything past support or pvp, but eh, I still enjoy them.
