Why do you want skill lines, not class?

As has already been said, it´s a matter of investment in a character. I have play many hours with my main, and won´t probably ever roll another char (I have also a crafter and a mule). I´d like to play my main with some other classes or skills, but I´m not willing to start new characters jut to try them.

I wish they would get rid of classes all together. TES games have always had better flavour as a classless game. Even this game essentially has all the pieces in place to do. Just add all class skill lines to the common skills. I would even go one step further, and reorganize them by traditional TES categories, keeping and using their skill line and morph design. I'd just have seperate skill lines for all the older magic schools, skill lines for all the individual weapons, and then skill lines organized by a theme taken from the classes.

Skyrim is the only TES without classes.

    And the best one...coincidence?

No...really. Dont get rid of classes...just re-do how they are selected. Say you take the fire magic line from the DK, the lightning magic line from the sorc, and the cold magic line from the warden...your class would then be "elementalist". Or if you took daedric summoning from sorc, animal copmanions from warden, and elementalist from Necro(which is a terrible name for a summoning skill line) you would then be a "summoner" class. Unlocking a given class based on the skill lines chosen would give you access to a skill line specific to that class. This way, there would still be classes, but you could mix and match skill lines to your heart's content

Not that I would think ZOS would ever do this since it would require dozens of classes and a lot of work, but it would be the most interesting way to do it.

I played morrowind when it came out...and I played Skyrim when it came out...objectively Skyrim is better...though Morrowind is certainly good. Poor Oblivion was just mediocre compared to either one though.

let me edit that....Subjectively, not Objectively.

You CAN'T say that X game is better than Y game just like that. People have OPINIONS. If someone says "fallout 76 is better than Skyrim" will I insult that person like 60% of internet will? Probably not because it's his opinion. For example I like Oblivion more than Skyrim, and what are you going to say? That I should kill myself? I really hope you are not one of these people...

Yep, this is why I edited the word to subjectively.

P.S. I really didnt mind Fallout 76...but I knew what it was going to be long before it was released, whereas most people thought it was a true fallout game.

    Incorrect.

In fact at launch Skyrim had the most restrictive character development with its perk system and there not being enough points to learn them all. Much hated. Changed in a later patch.

Both Morrowind and Oblivion had no classes. Characters could freely learn all skills and abiliites.

Morrowind had something it called "classes" but they didn't even come close to meeting the definition of that which we'd all understand.

Morrowind classes just changed your starting skill levels and the rate at which specific skill lines advanced. But every player could learn and max every skill and learn and cast every spell.

Did you play Oblivion? It had the same class system like Morrowind. In Oblivion it didn't matter that much, but in Morrowind, it was very important for the beginning.

Tired of skill lines they keep adding skill lines that a borderline useless or only useful in select scenarios. Id much rather have them add 2 more classes that do their own thing that see a random dk sorc nb etc occasionally using a niche skill from a skill line added.

Psijoc great for a tank bubbling and undoing and that dmg shield passive the light attack buff is eh...

Dark brotherhood useless unless on a theiving killing spree.

    Theives guild basically legedermain 2.0

Hell people only use 3 skills outta the lame guild lines magelight, dawnbreaker, trapbeast and maybe silver shards if you anything but a dk.

Warden had to outplay other classes at least for a while in order to sell. In PvP both mag and stam wardens are still very very strong solo and in groups with access to some of the best buffs and debuffs in the game along with things like free sustain while sprinting, expedition, and a ranged projectile shield that generates ult. Now consider that Necromancer is going to have to outplay warden not to mention the class is perfect to feature defiles, snares and roots, the strongest effects in PvP.
