Yeah i think that too. For me even my 1st mmo was the best (at launch) despite all the bugs haha. Oh i miss starwars galaxies. I tried the emu, but it's not the same without my (online) friends i had back then.

I can't say it was the best mmo but i had the most fun in it nonetheless. Also i had much more time back then. Now i am lucky if i can play for 1 hour a day and even that is rare in the middle of the week.

I never did the holocron grind. My first one i just put up for display. When the old man came i told him to sod of haha.

Yeah i screwed up my Jedi big time but i never wanted to be one anyway.

Instead of that i got big money from Bounty hunters to track down jedi on planets like Dathomir and Endor. Man those rebel jedi's really hated me for that. I would never rat out imperial jedi's though (or sith, but i think they were still called Jedi)

Holocron grind was a mess lol I still remember my 6th and final one, was Smuggler.

Jedi was fun at times, but perma-death, the forced PVP through the force ranking system was a nightmare. I got to like rank 5, which was Dark Jedi Templar I believe before publish 9 rolled out.

My first daughter was born in December 2004 and that's when I quit. I heard they "updated" the game to make it more like WoW.

Ah the good old early days of ESO. Where people would gather in delves, quest areas, and world bosses waiting for the boss to spawn because it was broken. Many drum circles were had.

Cold harbor too. Many players falling to their death trying to trigger the cold fire mechanisms.

It's pretty cool seeing all the pictures of the early days. I would have started 2015 so about 4 years ago. I missed the beginning I love especially the army on horseback that would have been awesome.

I loved that look so much more TBH. Also everyone on horses looked more impressive when riding in armies than what we have now with all sorts of random things.

So much this. Riding with a group on horses was so awesome and somehow felt more magical than what we have now in Cyrodiil. Today's armies on flashy, ghastly, fuming beasts... phew. I fear the day I see a rainbow-farting unicorn rear on the rocks at Bleaker's Outpost.

    Beta parties were the best!
    betabarparty.jpg

I think we all remember the huge, rolling open battles and seas of zerglings in Cyr as well. I think we had something like 400 people per alliance in campaign instead of 90 or so. I don't know how much of this was better servers and how much was that nobody had developed lag switches or add ons yet. Hopefully with the next update the add on overhead from all the merchant add ons will be greatly decreased.
    betascrollrun.jpg
I am currently worried for the future of ESO. Population seems like it is in free fall and the cancellation of the North America in-person gathering feels very much like pulling the plug. Kudos on fixing the in-game economy though. Clearly whatever gold shenanigans were happening the last couple years are fixed.

2014 launch ESO truly was a lawless wild west. So many amusing but frustrating bugs.

I remember when you could hear random world event spawns or Molag Bal from a dark anchor, or certain quest npc dialogue ("RANSER, YOU MAD MAN!") in towns and near wayshrines nowhere near those spawn points. And oh, the nature guardians in Glenumbra's voice file accidentally being replaced with the German voice file in the English client was amusing. Being yelled at to get to the protective light for the boss fight in German was fun.
