Should ICONs denoting DD, DoT, etc. be added to all skill mouseovers.

In light of he upcoming racial changes, should icons/symbols (or even blunt labels) be added to all skill mouseovers to more clearly indicate the skills as a DD (direct damage), DoT, (Damage over Time), AoEDD, AoeDoT, Heal, HoT (Heal over time), etc to provide clarity at a glance when considering what skills will benefit from various passives?

Should ICONs denoting DD, DoT, etc. be added to all skill mouseovers. 41 votes

I thought coloured text might work as well but then we might just end up with rainbow skills descriptions.

However yes, there needs to be more information on what type of damage each skill does.

Or you could just read the skill's description text.

Not a bad idea to clearly link passive bonuses to the abilities they effect, I guess.

How would this work for console players?

The skill description literally says these things, we can just make some tooltips a bit clearer. And this wouldn’t really help for skills that have a direct plus over time component... Having 2 different icons would be just as confusing as it is now. Better tooltips are all that’s needed.

Yet another unfair advantage PC players have over console players.

Add the Icon to the tool tip and in the skill description. This would make it clear instead of implied or misleading text.

Good point, and agree that simply an clearer description would be better.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

    1) This will help new players to get familiar with terminology (DoT, HoT, etc)
    2) Tooltips are often very unclear.

I am amazed that when I roll over a buff/debuff/effect icon it doesn’t even tell me what it IS, let alone what it does.

Try finding any information on what a specific icon even represents within the game or on any ZOS site. You can’t even find a page with all the icons on, let alone what they mean.
