Converted Skeptic

Usually skeptics like myself would only give an MMO a chance in the open betas. However, I decided to take the plunge and pay the 60$ even after I didn't quite like the beta, that's a first for me. So glad I did!

Can't say for sure what it was during the beta that irked me, I know a lot of the combat wasn't to my liking but now it just feels a lot better. Maybe I wasn't playing the right class lol. I can confidently say though that the biggest thing keeping me hooked to this game and that makes me eager to get home and log in are the quests! Never thought I'd EVER say that about an MMO!

I think about 90% of the quest's stories and their characters were just so interesting to me. They're not just the typical "I have a problem so go kill X amounts of this.". There are some truly entertaining stories and reasons to do the quests that just added personality and depth to the world's inhabitants. Add to that the fact that they sometimes chain quests together and bigger stories can unravel from just one little obscure NPC. In this aspect It was almost on par with Skyrim imo.

So I recommend that you take the time to hear out the quest givers and not rush if you can help it. =) Interesting stories coupled with some great voice-acting and likable characters = huge win for MMOs. Anyways, sorry for the long post but had to share how much fun I've been having. Anyone else been enjoying the side-quests?

You hear that from a lot of people, that it took them a while to get into the game I mean. It was sort of the same for me. When I participated in the beta I felt a little underwhelmed, not very impressed. I decided to give it another go with a different class the next beta event and really got into it, and pre-ordered soon after. Never had any regrets. :)

Glad to hear you're enjoying yourself!

I had the same exact problem - beta just felt meh. The last few betas I might have logged in for 5 minutes or so before logging out. Bought on release, very much enjoying it. Only real difference this time around is I'm paying attention to the quests which is key.

Yes! I'll admit I did have fun during the last beta. But the previous ones I was a little suspect about, though I think that was because the first few I was playing a class I wasn't liking. Then I switched to fire staff sorcerer and my perspective changed. Went ahead and pre-ordered off the last test and man I loooove this game. You're right, the quests are so much fun! I love the NPCs I meet along the way and the quests themselves feel so much different than your average MMO quests. I'm always eager to meet new NPC faces. Meeting that crazy skeleton Dringoth was especially a treat. haha

The sad thing is that I see SO MANY people around me who are obviously skipping and rushing through the content. I watch them and they take 2 seconds to talk to a quest giver and it just makes me sad knowing how much they are missing. I'm worried they'll go and tell people this game sucks because they didn't take the time to even experience one of the things that makes this game great!

I was skeptical of an Elder Scrolls mmo not *** it all up. But I too am loving every minute of it.
