PC EU Server Instances: They seem to have actually fixed something

Been testing for the last hour with some volunteers that I ninja invited. It's nearly peaktime UK/EU and so far after 10 Resets... the trial instances might* be fixed. Not a single reset Time Trial instance has been high latency/unplayable.

What was happening?: When entering an instance pings were either in the 60-90ms range or in the 150-450ms range. If it was 60-90ms you were fine to start the trial. If it was 150-450ms that instance was bugged, players teleporting, skills not working, basically PvP on Vivec peaktime; and you had to reset.
When did this begin?: It was here before the 28th January but something happened on the 28th to make it so almost 50% of new instances were bugged (especially Time Trials).

If this is true we need Global commendation, presents of Flowers & Chocolates, possible even an International day of Celebration to recognise that Zenimax Online Studios have Fixed an Issue.

I've not tested all trials and i've not tested any dungeons, and I know what you're thinking this cannot be true, this dude is high or insane or in cahoots with ZOS. But it seems to be true atm. And yes, you can compliment someone and at the same time stick the knife in. The silence about this issue was deafening. And of course yes there's no way to know whether what's happened in the last 2 weeks will be happening again soon in the future.

I understand you wanting to post something positive for a change, but in all honesty I can't agree with applauding ZOS *making their game actually playable*. I mean, shouldn't that be the bare minimum? Not only that, there was *zero* communication from ZOS regarding the degradation of performance in the EU server lately, so as far as we know your computer/connection/addons/[insert other common excuses here] magically fixed themselves rather than ZOS fixing the server.

They took something from the NA server and gave it to the EU server, but they didn't think to retain it on the NA server so now they are writing that bit from scratch, hence the 8 hour + maintenance.

I can't agree, sorry. Logged in 20 minutes ago and 19 minutes loading screen so far.. Friends in teamspeak also telling me they still have massive lags on vivec, so..

I hope they spend wisely that 30 sec of their precious time, they would have to waste on acknowledging issue to EU players, anytime during those past 2 weeks.

Not sure about the Loading Screens, i've personally not had a long one "yet", but the bugged instances with super mega ping are currently not appearing anymore. They said 150ms but seriously it was like playing on a Martian server before maintenance (sorry Martians, i'm sure you have nice ping where you are).

The problem in cases like this is you can't roll back software without a severe risk to server data. So there will likely be several more incremental fixes for anything the server software update compromised. You really don't want to do an aggressive blanket solution on a live server as that could lead to other issues. Moving cautiously forward helps prevent more unintended consequences.

I know it's frustrating, but give them the benefit of troubleshooting and patching this correctly. A more amateur and reckless company would try to force-load a solution and probably wind up irreparably wiping account data for a number of their players.

Tbh i personally am not angry because of problems. Im angry because lack of any kind of communication about the problem for past 2 weeks.
I understand that this kind of thing can happen. But what is really frustrating is when for 2 weeks you dont get as much as simple post from devs that they know about it and are working to fix it. Because then you feel like second class customer, who can be just ignored.

Man you really go out of your way to be a debbie downer. Fact: MMOs have server issues sometimes. Also, there wasnt any communication that youre aware of. Couldve been lots of reports about it, or zos noticed the issue themselves. Either way, its fixed. So quit being so negative, youll generally be happier and make more friends that way.

I know games have issues. My point is that our options aren't only to bash the game or sing wild praise about it. If ZOS fixed something, great. That doesn't change their (in my view) poor track record. And I don't need to go out of my way to be a debbie downer. I have enough complaints about the game that I stopped playing for over 2 years. Again, we don't all have to be adoring fans.

[EDIT]Just to clarify: my gripe isn't about recognizing a fix. It's very specifically (as I quoted in my original post) someone stating this:
If this is true we need Global commendation, presents of Flowers & Chocolates, possible even an International day of Celebration to recognise that Zenimax Online Studios have Fixed an Issue.
I have no problem recognizing when things go well, and have posted about such things, most recently what I found was surprisingly good performance in Cyrodiil during the PvP event.
