I've tried a bunch so far, currently using nvidia's downsampling in combination with the newest version of reshade. It looks really good and even helps with the specular aliasing. Doesn't fix it entirely but it helps. Just curious what you all use. Please state your GPU.

Get a 4k monitor then you can disable AA.

4k is still not good enough.

    5k monitor with Gtx 1080ti or 2080 / 2080ti

    Get old.

When your medium distance vision gets fuzzy, AA and all the rest cease to matter.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Gary Gravestink "I am glad you died, I needed the help"

I was thinking the same thing lately. I had to start wearing glasses and sometimes I won't on purpose.

I did the getting old thing. Currently lvl 38 in age... Hoping to make 810.

Taking off glasses is like free anti-aliasing. Thing is my eyes are so bad I can't really see a foot in front of my face without glasses. I can't even read this over the frame of my glasses, and because I'm cloning display to TV, the fonts are big. I need new eyes. Gonna have to knock off a hobo with perfect vision and get a transplant.

Then you get older, and your vision improves again! Not always or for everyone - but between 65 and 70, mine went from needing bi-focals to needing only longer distance correction.... like for driving, or watching Shakespeare on stage. And instead of needing new lenses every year, I just got my first set of new ones in 5 years last fall.

Here are some of the screenshots with the AA techniques I'm using. This is nvidia's DSR downsampling to 1080p from 2880x1620 combination with reshade's SMAA. So far it's the best antialiasing solution I've found, but I might mess with multisampling and supersampling in the future. It doesn't really fix the specular aliasing, but it does help quite a bit.

What are you using for smoothness? Can you recommend any particular reshade AA other then SMAA? I was messing around with that but could not get any satisfactory results.

I think nvidia's DSR applies smoothing when it down-samples. I'm just using the DSR and reshade for SMAA, but if I find something cool I'll definitely give you all a yell.

I'm thinking about writing a guide to optimize performance and visual quality. Just the little tricks I've learned. How to get higher res textures, how to get rid of the frame rate cap, changing reflections to low to put them on the GPU rather than the CPU. Installing reshade, setting up DSR.

Probably not news to a lot of people, but I just figure I'll put it all in one place.
