Would you delete a low char with his mount maxed out?

Well, it's not maxed out, it's something like 50/40/30, a stamsorc orc I'm not playing since I already have one. He's level 20.

Would you delete it to make room for a necro? I'm a bit hesitant, on one hand his mount capabilities are a bunch of money but on the other hand I have to level him up to 50, undaunted, skyshards... I don't want to burn out before the necromancer class is released, which I'll have to do all that plus mages guild and psijic order, etc. and my time is limited.

woah, any input please

I would not delete anything if the reason is to make room for a necro. You'll get one slot for free later on.

However, I have deleted max mount toons before. It's painful, but I had too many DK's and templars so evened out my classes a bit.

Nah I would just buy 200 alchemy writs and speed level it.

I'm seriously contemplating that right now to make room for a new char right now, not necro.

Along with the arrival of the Necro class ESO will add 1 new additional and free char slot as part of the Elseweyr expansion and possibly even 1-2 more char slots that you can purchase as an upgrade from the store.

You get an free character slot with Elsweir.
You also get race and name changes in next update. Race change can also be used as an appearance change.
In short only delete if you need other classes more .
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

If it's just mount training, you lose some time. If it's mount training, plus max crafting, plus max guild/undaunted/whatever else too, it starts to sting a little more.

You won't have the option to class change, either way, so if it's Necro you're after, you're going to have to start from scratch (using the free slot) regardless.
Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

I wouldn't. Remember that you're going to be getting some free race change tokens, so you can switch over to a Mag or Tank Sorc if you're so inclined. If you haven't tried either, I'd recommend giving them a shot. A Breton or Argonian can fill either role. An Imperial or Nord will be good for tanking. A Khajiit or Altmer will be good for MagDPS.

Respecs are cheap, leveling a mount is time consuming. Of the two, I'd respec before considering deletion. Unless you've got more than 3 sorcs, anyway.

This. The Necro character is a start-from-scratch proposition for everyone. Don't make your Orc suffer for nothing. Change something you can control, like skills and attributes, and you'll have a fall-back if Necromancer turns out to be less than you'd hoped for.
