Um, 10 hours for patch maintenance? (updated to only 8 hours)

It's cool that they are giving us a time frame for the patch to be completed in, but what's up with this patch that it's going to take more than double the time it usually takes? .....or are they just grossly overestimating the actual time so we will be grateful when it doesn't take the full 10 hours?

....they updated right after this posted to only taking 8 hours, but the question still remains....that's still longer than normal by a fair margin.

It's payback for when EU had long maintenance. xD

hey ZOS, how about 3 days of maintenance and you 100% fix someone declined, unable to queue, 999+ ping and loading screens?

    Absolutely this.

They can take a week IF I won’t be seeing things like

    Some one declined…
    You cannot mount in combat
    Cannot bar swap in pvp
My char keep spamming light attack no matter how hard I hit my keyboard
    My group mate turns invisible
    Random disconnection in Cyro
Random loading screens in Cyro, after which a death recap
Random ping spikes coming out of nowhere
    Etc. etc.

Of course we all know that won’t happen, because ZOS.

They announced that they would be doing database operating system upgrades for all megaservers, but not all at the same time. This week it is PC NA

I am hoping that ZOS learned a lot from installing this on EU. Given the performance complaints since then, if the two are related, I am not certain that I would be rolling out more updates until EU was fixed. That's just me, though.

Well. The EU server is still Zosed from this. with bad performance. So yea.

Prepare to face the same lag us poor EU players are currently battling against. Muahaha.
Overload rework. Power Overload now does physical damage and grants you the power of a tornado: You throw a brick at the target with a light attack, and you hammer your head into that brick with every heavy attack. We have decreased its Ultimate cost, but increased the chance that you get stuck in the animation.

*HAD...EU always has long maintenance....the whole reason that I switched back to good old US server....moved to germany years ago...and made the mistake of playing on the EU server....thinking it would have lower latency...nope! NA server is still favored/or has a better team behind it...no idea....but I'm sticking around just based on the lower load times(less than half as long normally)....

I don't mind longer maintenance...I mind the lack of transparency.

LOL, right....we are a fickle bunch....I guess no one would complain if we did not enjoy playing...

Live in UK but started on NA - I have 1007 CP NA and 800ish on EU; and I have much better ping (200-260 NA, 70-80 EU) on EU, but I don;t play in the evenings - so prefer NA for the AU/OCE playtimes.

Yes please... I'd even take a month off the game if they 100% fixed all that, I'd even pay my month sub and not play.. just fix it!!!!!

hmm i don't believe this update will bring any better performance to the table since the only performance they mention during livestream was something has to do with cyrodiil only and make very small change to make it better otherwise they would 100% mention this upgrades in live stream

Looks like they should have left it at 10 hours, then people wouldn't be unhappy about them going over time.

Doesn't matter what they would have put up there. Someone somewhere will always whine about the downtime. They can't win on this subject. They get heat for patching the servers, they get heat for working on the servers, and they get heat when they don't try to fix things.
"And it's important to state that our decision to go with subscriptions is not a referendum on online game revenue models. F2P, B2P, etc. are valid, proven business models - but subscription is the one that fits ESO the best, given our commitment to freedom of gameplay, quality and long-term content delivery. Plus, players will appreciate not having to worry about being "monetized" in the middle of playing the game, which is definitely a problem that is cropping up more and more in online gaming these days. The fact that the word "monetized" exists points to the heart of the issue for us: We don't want the player to worry about which parts of the game to pay for - with our system, they get it all."

Apparently heat is because they hardly ever fix a thing with every patch perfomance keeps getting worse.

I am at the DMV, 50 people ahead of me and they are taking care of 10 people every 30 minutes. Waiting on a game patch is nothing. For sure its smells better.

And that class will be nerfed to the point of maintainmancers putting the service-call phones on hold while they sleep in the back of the service truck all shift.

Maintainmancer Union will not be trifled with.

Well, if broken stuff got 'fixed without breaking stuff', and lag/disconnects were 'reduced in occurrence', I'm sure the whining would be a whole lot less than 'normal'.....
