Why so stingy with the Twitch crates?

I've sat in on three ESO streams, 30+ minutes just to be sure and have gotten no crates for any of them...and yes it was on days and times when they were supposed to be given out.

When did they get so stingy? I was cool with watching some twitch for a crate that might have something useful, but not gonna go out of my way for a chance, especially what is looking like a slim one.

Watching for rewards, rather than entertainment value.

What a shining endorsement for those channels.

My experience is that you are not missing much by not getting these crates.

I also didn’t get a crate for watching ESO Live. I think something is off this month.

At least you have the opportunity to get them, consoles have only been given twitch crates on 2 occasions with the last one being months ago

They nurfed the drop rate a while ago. Your only chance at a twitch crate these days is during an ESO live if they guarantee it. And even then, they'll only guarantee 1.

The drop rate on general streams is practically non-existent. I wouldn't waste your time if you were chasing the crates.

Free crates haven't really been a thing for a few months now.

Maybe I'm watching the wrong twitch streams but very few of them offer much entertainment or any value. There are a few exceptions but even those rarely offer much beyond a few minutes amusement.

The point of the free crates was to do two things, bring people to the twitch streams, where hopefully they would stay if they liked it and the other was to artificially boost the numbers so they get exposure and ad revenue.

I am sure some folks discovered Twitch and enjoy it, so they likely achieved the first goal, but removing the incentive hamstrings the second.

Guess I will just be tuning in to the live announcements from now on.

In fairness I am a little old for the twitch demo, so it's not really geared to me to begin with.

I've never done that and yeah those guys as ***. If the content warranted me watching it, then they wouldn't need the crate incentive, the content has rarely warranted my watching for it alone as there is rarely any entertaining content in most of the streams I've seen.

I do support the medium though and my mind boggles at times when I see some of the channels that have such strong followings...

Not sure why you would get upset that someone wants to avail themselves of a free crate, after all it gets eyeballs and that is good for the streamer no matter how you got them there.

This ^, you want a crate cough up the money for it.

Honestly no clue what their PR/Sales team is doing, they just make players more and more angry at how greedy they became.
