So I looted a superior glyph of stamina. It says it could add up 668 stamina on an item but every time I preview the item to enchant it actually lowers the stamina of the item. Is this broken?
If the item you want to enchant already has a enchantment effect, then the glyph will replace the effect of the enchantment already on the item instead of adding to it.
Most dropped gear comes pre-enchanted. Crafted gear needs to have enchantments placed on it.
You can also double check that the glyph and the item you want to put it on are the same level and quality.
As a final possibility, viewing lower level gear on a higher level character results in the bonuses appearing to be much lower than they will be on a character of equal level with the gear.
You are probably trying to enchant gloves/belt/shoes/shoulders. Which count as small enchant pieces and can't get full potential from enchantments. If you try enchanting chest/legs/head/shield you will see the full enchantment will be applied.
One more note, if this is a set item piece, improving the item will improve the enchantment. However, once you put an enchant on, then it stays the same even if you improve the item.
So, always improve the item first if that is your goal
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.
