MagDK - 10-49 BGs and PvP

I knew there was an under 50 PvP zone, but I didn't realize that there was an under 50 BGs. So I figured I would level up my MagDK fighting other players rather than PvE. I was trying to come up with a good way to gear him up. One set crafted and one overland set.

I was thinking of either seducer or Shacklebreaker for crafted and maybe Bright-Throat from overland/merchants. I need to be on the tankier side to survive.

OK choices ? or better options?

If I was you i'd just stick to crafted sets, you will out level dropped sets too quickly to make the effort of getting them.

On Magdk I'd go Innate axiom with either Shackle or Seducer.

I did the same with shackle and Sloads. You’ll need one set at level 10 and another made for level 30. Use all training traits.

-Infused Seducer weapon with Oblivion Damage Enchant.

It's pretty easy/fast to get enough jewelry traits unlocked to craft seducers jewelry.

5x Seducers
5x Shacklebreaker
2x whatever

That's a pretty solid setup that will power you through lowbie PvP.

If you are leveling up via BGs, I wouldn't worry about training trait--that only increases XP from kills, and most of your XP will be bonus XP from the end of the BG. I'd just stick with dependable PvP traits (impen and sharpened/dealers choice) and call it a day.

Yeah, for under 50, I would run all crafted on a magdk. 5 Shackle, 5 Axiom, and 2 of a set that provides Max Mag. You get enough health at low level to not need a boost there.

Attempting to farm underlevel overland gear is a headache. And trying to find it in traders is even worse.

Once you have enough AP on a toon, or have handed down AP via the bank, it's relatively trivial to get overland sets via the Cyro regional vendor, if you don't mind spending a fair amount of AP every 5-10 levels.

It is definitely easier to just go crafted, though.

Went with Axiom and Shackle. Played two games in BG and had a lot of fun. Thanks for the advice!

I will watch more videos and do some reading about weapon choices. I went with a destro/resto combo. I didn't really spend much time on resto bar. Was thinking of maybe going S/B and Destro. Start fights at range with destro then switch to S/B when fights get into melee ?

One of many things I do wrong is I get too close when in melee. Trying to figure out which skills get the bonus range

IMO Shackle and Axiom together work best for DKs and Templars.

If you dont have jewelry crafting, then either 5x Shackle 4x Mechanical Aquity or 5x Axiom 4x Mechanical Aquity with random purple/blue quality jewelries.

Have fun owning tons of people with lvl 10 training gear. 🤣🤣🤣

Shacklebreaker for sure.

Torugs and axiom good choices.

I’m actually doing the same thing atm on a argonian mag warden. I’m wearing shackle and willows path my Stam mag and health regen are insane and I got those hot heals am Tanky, and spew cancer in the form of dual frost staves.

I can literally keep my team in view do a heavy attack then heal them all 6k+ lay down 2 snares, pop ult etc etc. so cancerous I can literally freeze whole teams and keep them from objectives. When combined with people who can do damage it’s gg.
