Altmer new passive the best for pvp

Restore 645 Magicka or Stamina, based on whichever is lower, after activating a Class Ability. This effect can occur once every 6 seconds

The people likes only passives that boost only their main stats making them glass cannon, without understand the big advantage in pvp of the new passives. A well played sorcerer altmer now not only will have damage shields but it will able to break free and roll a lot more. Or in the case of stamina to streak more often.

All these years altmer and red guards were the best of the best, now they balance the other classes and they are already complaining about orcs that till now they had almost nothing useful.

How exactly is a tiny amount of stamina going to allow you to streak more? There is no big advantage. Sustain of an Altmers main stat got nerfed, max resources of that stat got nerfed, and surviveability will suffer now. I'd much rather be able to rely on my main offensive/defensive skills (magicka) rather than a single extra roll dodge from time to time. Now not only will we always be out of stamina, but we will be much worse off with our magicka resource pool as well.

Sure we can slot recovery glyphs, join a zergball, and pretend we are actually doing something. Since we will not be able to burst anyone down any longer. This was a useless, unthought change. I dont care how you or anyone else try to sugarcoat it.

Bottom line is, a racial shakeup of this caliber should not happen 5 years after launch. It shouldn't happen after people have invested years into their characters. They want to make changes? Buff the under performers... Dont kill what people have invested thousands of hours into.

    Quite simple:
Dark conversion gives you offstat into mainstat on a ratio between 1.85:1 up to 3:1.

It´s more effective to meet minimum mag sustain and then opt for stamina sustain instead of purely focusing on magica sustain on a sorc.

That's the problem. A passive should be useful in both PvE and PvP, not just PvP.

You could not name a passive more useless than stamina recovery for a PvE magicka DD. You're better off saving the skill point.

ZOS seems to be pretty adamant on making sorcs use deal in pve though :joy:

That being said. I think the change is trash. But i think the old recovery passive was also trash. Neglible armount of resources either way and doesn´t make the race interesting.

So now eso makes changes in the direction where mechanics are important and the community goes crazy. The only thing they want is to do DPS without stop and be machine killers in pvp.

Well not, dark conversion is there and now should be part of the mechanics. That's what is this game about, resources management and mechanics. Not killing everyone hitting your keyboard like a monkey.

Blame the dev's for designing combat and content around rotations and an unfixable bug turned feature (aka, animation canceling); not the players playing the game as it was designed. Dark conversion has no place in PvE as the game currently stands.

Well the heal is nice and you can go for fewer recovery glyphs to add spell dmg. The passive recovery on the new racial is odd, but it could have it's uses in pve. When I solo farm dungeons I tend to roll dodge frequently even on mag toons to avoid aoe or through mobs as a mitigation tactic.

I don't think you understand the passives nor how to make best use of them in PvP. As you pretty much incorrect right through that.

So your suggestion is to slot fewer recovery glyphs because you can slot a pos skill that completely ruins a rotation, and wastes a skill slot on your bar? Please, slot dark conversion, and go make a video of your rotation and bar setup. I actually want to watch it. I like comedies.

I don't do vids, thx for asking, however:

    1. You said it had no place in pve. I merely pointed out that indeed it can have uses in pve, not that it's bis or what trial progression folks should run.
    2. Blessed and quick recovery both boost dark conversion and can make the heal quite potent on top the mag return, and I don't run a petsorc so that is valuable.
    3. Alternate DC and overload LA and see how fast you can restore mag, while still doing damage. FYI, originally DC was on my overload bar but we know what happened to that.

Sad that people like you do not notice that racial passives should be useful in both PvE and PvP. The new passive have nothing else than stam regen. So for a PvE player it is completely dead. ONE passive. Completely DEAD. Not to mention that it is totally counterintuitive that activating a mag skill gives you stam. I wouldn't complain if on top of the stam regen it gave you something extra, a little bonus to mag dmg or mag sustain. Altmer needs something more because now these are very bland racials for a pure mag race and it looks even worse when you compare their passives to the ones of other mag races. Being the top of the tops for years (sorry but Dunmer was) is no argument to make Altmers worse now than some other mag races.

And in PvP.... that little stam gain is nothing and will make no difference. Is not meaningful in any way and won't save your life. For that purpose I would choose Dunmer's raw boost to stam rather than little stam regen the spell recharge provides. Why choose Altmer for PvP if you have better alternatives for that?

You can definitely burst people down with far lower stats. I'm an argonian magblade and have no problem in bursting even tanks. The stats will be almost identical after the adjustment of CP calculation, it's just that the floor has been raised (perhaps way too much). The stamina recovery will be awesome on real PvPers as that extra dodge/block is amazing in many situations, whereas you can gain recovery from other sources such as maelstrom resto staves, elemental drain, recovery food etc.

You don't dodge/block in PvE unless a specific mechanic requires it. You shield and position yourself appropriately. Mechanics that require dodging/blocking are few and far between so you never run out of stamina.

And why should ZOS balance the game around 0,000000000001% of players that cant even financially sustain their content instead of other 99,999999999999%?

Plenty of blocking/dodging is required in PvE. Actually hard PvE like soloing dungeons/world bosses even public dungeons. And its very useful in PvP (essential some would say)

New players even have to block/dodge regular mobs because they arent riding exceptionally bad power creep in ESO (or exploiting mechanics).

So, you were saying again? "useless in PvE"...quite contrary its one of best utility pasives. But its revealing that you consider your tiny content with tiny population as whole "PvE"

Mhm, 3 meters stealth detection radius increase. Sorry. you've walked into this one.

And my question is, what kind of passive do you want in that slot? ZOS made it clear that it has to be a utility passive so it will not be magicka, penetration or magicka recovery. More health? 2790 reistances to shock damage?

Yeah. Curses on all who made a meaningful choice regarding race for their role! Altmer for lightning, Dunmer for fire, Argonians for healing, phhh! Every race should instead have 50% increased swimming speed! Diversity is so the death of MMOs!

Your choice should have been made meaningful based on lore and you character background not because of hugely imbalanced race damage passives.

In fact, races being balanced damage wise brings MUCH more diversity to the game instead having only 1 choice. ZOS acknwledged their mistake and is giving 3 race change tokens so you can finally play what you want based on the game instead being pigeonholed into single race because of hugely imbalanced combat passives.
