Sustain question.

So I am a magsorc pet build. I run matriarch.

I recently changed my Mundus stone to Lover and jewelery enchants to spell damage. I see I can burst very nicely now and the damage has considerably improved.

However, sustain.

I was running elemental drain in PVP but I changed it to Harness Magicka now.

The question I have is, is it better to put mag recovery on let's say necklace and spell dam on rings? Would it be worth any good?

ATM, I am using clockwork citrus, plus spell potion, plus harness mag for sustain.

All armor has Max mag enchants, except one with max health.
Weapons have spell and weapon damage and flame damage.
Jewelry has spell damage. (Used to be mag recovery)

Depends on your play style, skills and so on. Some manage with 3 spell damage, doing a lot of heavy attacking, potions, drain, maelstrom resto or whatever. Try out what you have and put on some recovery glyphs if you lack sustain.

I have at least one recovery glyph on a jewellery piece (and run blue food if infused or Witches brew if arcane). That helps my Dunmer MagSorc. I also throw a heavy at the end of every 2nd and 3rd rotation (49 CP in tenacity) in place of a spammable.

    edit to add

My latest build, now that I finally have full perfect siroria, I have neck infused recovery, 1 ring infused cost reduction, remaining ring infused spell damage. That seems to balance sustain for me currently.

Experiment with Rekuta Or Purple Glyphs to find the best combo for how you play. Then make them in Kuta or Gold.

That being said, I mix Cost Reduction with Damage Boost. I find cost reduction to help my sustain better than regeneration. Others find regeneration is more helpful.

As I said, experiment because your playstyle is yours.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Keep in mind target dummy sustain is often worse than in practice sustain because you get help from your Healer.

If you feel you are getting low on resources there is no shame is throwing in a heavy attack.

The actual best passive for improving sustain for me is medicinal use that gives much longer potion uptime and then using expensive spell power potions.

Try running lich, it's a go too for mag sustain.

I run alteration but my build is crap rn

Ah interesting suggestions. I'll practice around a bit. Never thought about cost reduction.
