Scatter shot still a melee attack?

My understanding of melee attacks is that it has to be close-ranged, but since scatter shot's range was buffed does that no longer mean it is a melee attack?

December 2015 was long time ago, Scatter shot now have larger distance now and not count for melee.0 -
