No ESO+ compensation/crates for the surprise Free Trial period?

Do I see that right? No compensation again? No crates every time we log in each day?
Well I guess this is a trend now.
In that case, thank you Zenimax for making inventory management easier for five days. I would have subbed again for an additional reward, but those little statues are a joke and having to pay for the privilege of a discount is not a benefit at all.

Well you get statuetts every month for subscribing, I don't think people will get those for a free trial

While you think those little statues are a joke I prefer them over loot boxes that usually end up being cashed in for gems.

@wnights @Juju_beans Yeah, exactly. I get statues of daedric lords that I don't worship, that are too small to impress anyone and which I can't fit into my house anyway, because even with ESO+ there is just no room for small items to make the vast halls feel full.

Don't get me wrong, I'll sub for a mini Namira statue because one of my characters actually worships her.

@mxxo You got that wrong, I want a compensation for people with active ESO+ who now have 5 days wasted.
Personally I only subscribed for these rewards and occassionally for furniture/item management. Those gems are the reason I got 463 now and can buy whatever costume I want with them, without needing to spend my crowns on crates.

@Cloudless I know the word compensation has become a meme on here, but it used to be a thing and ZOS has taken that away and replaced it statues.

seems they need more bank space on the RMT, rather than existing paying ciustomers

I think it's great that they have these free eso+ days. Gives folks that don't have eso+ a taste of what they could have all the time so it may win over some new subscribers.

Also gives those that don't subscribe on purpose a chance to play those dlc's, stuff their banks and homes and continue to play the game.

I'm a subscriber and don't feel the need to be compensated for what others are getting for free for 5 days.
They get it for 5 days where I have it all the time.

Oh that's a weird coincidence. Just yesterday I was thinking that I'll have to remember to sort out my consumables (again) next time there's a free trial. (I prefer to do it during trials because the extra bank space, and shifting materials over to the craft bag makes it easier to dump everything into the bank and go through it all together.)

But I wasn't expecting one until Elsweyr is released, it seems like we had one not long ago.

As for the lack of crown crates that is disappointing but it looks like they've stopped giving us free crates. My guess is it was a marketing strategy - we get a few free crates and see how great they can be and all the cool stuff we could get and then we buy more - but that didn't happen, it may even have backfired and lead to people who pay for them buying fewer crates.

It's a shame, but understandable if their goal was to make more money.

@Juju_beans I agree that it's a great thing to have these in general and I especially like that they make overlap with the Vvardenfell event so that people who don't have it can get their event tickets. But still, we had these compensations in place before and now ZOS decided they don't need them anymore. I think that's a bummer and counter productive to what they actually want to achieve.

I always look at it as a way for them to get more people to subscribe which in turn generates more revenue which will help the game and get us better updates in the long run. I honestly couldn't care less about people getting 5 days for free. Lets be real here, is that $2.50 really going to matter? Plus if you look at it at a perspective of crowns then you paid the $15 and got your moneys worth in crowns + the bonus crowns with the sub on top of all the sub benefits. They don't get those crowns. Don't get me wrong I liked when they gave crown crates too but people asking for compensation every time they do one of these free play events is getting kinda ridiculous.

Why would you want compensation? You really want like £2 in compensation?

This is how the world works. Companies give free things/trials of services that people pay for in a bid to get more people buying/paying for said product/service.

Compensation is for when you have been wronged. There is no wronging here.

A little overestimating our self-importance, are we? Stop trying to find excuses for your attempt at milking free stuff from ZOS,you are not "wasting" any of your ESO+ days, the other players are simply getting a taste of it for a week. What even is wrong with you? This isn't about "YOU"! It's about them. Gee... You know that old saying... "They give you one finger and you take the whole hand." I swear there is one self-centered a**hat copy-pasting this kind of thread every time ZOS does a free week trial.

You are right, those 2.50$ can't beat the 1650 crowns. But I feel that ZOS is shooting themselves in the foot with this. Crafters need the craft bag because you can't really do without in the long run. I know because I am a crafter with two months off subscription and a full inventory. They almost had me to resub for one month just to get my inventories clean. Now I won't have to and can go another two months without. Maybe I am just special, but I like to imagine that I am not the only one thinking this way.

Compensation is a something you receive when you experience loss of service or suffering some sort of exceptionally and particularly poor service.

I’m happy they do these events and give people a reason to try ESO+ and subs. I’d much rather the sub was mandatory and focus less on generating through crown crates. For me this helps that.

This is just unjustified entitlement at its finest.

@Parrot1986 Is it unjustified if we had these things before and they have now been taken away? I won't make a thread like this when we don't get compensated for a third time, because that's what I can expect at that point.

@Ackadian I own all DLCs, I dyed my costumes the way I want them, my main home is in an acceptable state. The only reason for me to subscribe is the inventory management. Now I get that for free, which is great! But what reason do I have to actually subscribe now? None. At least none for another two months or so. If we had gotten crates, I would have subscribed right away! 1650 crowns, a month of craft bag AND 5 CRATES?! Amazing deal, too bad ZOS doesn't agree.

We really don't need them anymore. There are more benefits to ESO+ now than there have ever been in the past. In the days when we would get things like free crown crates during free ESO+ trial periods we used to get fewer crowns for our subscriptions, no ESO+ exclusives in the crown store (either the free statuettes, or the discounts on items that aren't available yet for non-subscribers), or access to Morrowind (although I'd guess that most ESO+ subscribers bought Morrowind before we got access to it free anyway). If that, plus all of the benefits to ESO+ that have been around for much longer, isn't enough for you to want to subscribe, then don't subscribe.

Yes, it is. Because the last ESO+ week and this one are mainly there to give all players the opportunity to get event tickets.
That's also why they are now more frequent (the next one should have been in March or April if they had stuck to their usual schedule). During the thieves guild/dark brotherhood event we'll probably get another one and for all the other DLC events this year too.

They can't just give out free crates every time. And for all we know the crates never had the intended effect in the first place and the additional ESO+ players didn't offset the losses from giving away so much free stuff.

Then look at it from this perspective. Why would someone want to pay for something that everyone else is being given for free?

When they stopped giving free crates to ESO+ subscribers during the free ESO+ weeks, it also made me reconsider if I wanted to continue paying for it. Now that I no longer have ESO+, I'm perfectly content waiting for the free ESO+ weeks so I can move my materials over to my crafting bag and rearrange my furniture. In the long run, I'm losing out on nothing but a silly little figurine of the month club (which are merely lazy resizes of existing full-size statues).
