A vampire stage for PVE?

I'm new to be a vampire. Can't figure out what stage to be in PVE. My vampire rank is 8 now. I understand that stage 2 is useful - it gives the opportunity to use magicka regen passive. Shall I always stay stage 2, or go "deeper" - be stage 3, 4? I know that stage 3 and 4 open some other passives, but I'm lost in understanding benefits and weak points...

Always all in unless there is a lot of fire damage around. Then drop it to 2.

If you're in a dungeon/trial that has a lot of fire damage: Stage 2

For most things, stage 3 is fine. At this stage you'll get Undeath.

Stage 4 for sneak running and if you don't have to worry about any crazy amounts of fire damage.

If you're new to vamp, I should also point out that there is a special drink you can buy from guild traders for very cheap called "Double Bloody Mara". Each drink will drop your vamp stage by 1. It's a great alternative to having town guards chasing you around.

Really insightful, thank you! My crafter knows the Double Bloody Mara recipe - I even didn't think about it

4 unless the dungeon has loads of fire damage, then 2 (Bloody Mara drink)

I'm too lazy to feed, so I stay at stage 4 (never have any problems).

If you can get away with 3 its nice for the reduced damage at low health, but if fire is a problem stick at 2.

Stage 4 only gives you faster sneaking which is cool for pvp for unnecessary for pve.

DPS and Healers: Stage 2 for regen

Tank: Stage 3 for Undeath, which is pretty strong on them, especially for DK. As a tank you can afford to be lazy and remain on Stage 4 if you want, the difference is neglible.

I stay mainly at stage 4. I don't really notice the extra fire damage from vet dungeons. For fire heavy vet trials or VMA I would go 2 if I'm dying a lot.
