What would you change if you were picking the game up for the first time today?

What advice would you give a new player logging in for the first time?

I'm curious to know what people would of done differently if they knew then what they know now.

I don't think there's much that is off track of common sense and adaption.

What I mean is: Since I started playing, things have changed over time and we've had to adapt as and when they did. I don't think anything has ever been set in stone long enough that advice and tips could still be relative over long periods, especially 5 years!

Make sure you have trait research on cooldown at all times
Make sure your horse upgrades are on cooldown at all times
Upgrade your bags asap

Though none of those things actually matter, they are a convenience.

Yeah I think that's some good advice. A newer player might end up reading this and not have thought about it!

I'd have made a dedicated crafter right away instead of trying to share crafts between my characters. For me it works so much better that way, and I wasted a lot of time and some research items before I realised that.

I'd have made my first character a mule so they could pick up the treasure map packs from the Explorer's Pack (which for some stupid reason can't be deposited in the bank until they're opened - and then they're seperate maps which take up far more space).

I wouldn't have bothered making a second templar and trying to make it feel different enough to my first one while still fitting the character design I wanted - I'd have waited for the warden. (Of course I couldn't do that at the time, because I had no way of knowing the warden was coming.)

I wouldn't buy Hunter's Glace house. The most stupid thing I've ever did.
It was too late when I saw bloody corpse body parts and bones everywhere on the ground, realized that bloody red-ish color filter is bad for my eyes and my mental health, and realized that it's not convenient at all to fall down from the entrance point and to run upstairs to get to the exit.
