Race change question

I'm currently Altmer which is dead if the current PTS patch goes live. If I want to switch to say Dunmer can I with the free race change token and remain on my same alliance? Can I even choose a race from another alliance? Do I have to pay additional cash for this Adventure pack?

See.... there's a lot of silliness about stuff. I've played MMOs since 2006 - things will be fine for me (because I don't chase meta, and really I only role play). YMMV of course.0 -

✭✭Any race any alliance came from the boxed edition back in the day before crownstore, one tamriel and the chapters system. So if you do have that and a code inside one of those boxes. You could get any race any alliance for free. But yeah otherwise you have to spend money in crownstore for it.PC NA

Could be anything really. Back then they didn't seem very greedy they even given I think a couple of times a million dollors away for free. To one lucky player. Yeah they do over charge on some things like name change and the houses. This could be anything from them trying to shake things up to attempting to balance the races or just something like a cash grab. Or all three at the same time. So we don't know there reasons behind it. I do think the altmer change kinda over does it. Hopefully they revert that back. IF they have to reduce the regen for them. Instead of changing it to a resource pool that isn't being invested in at all. We will see what happens. To me I don't play races for meta. There is other things one can do for meta, I play that race because i want to play that race not because of a build. Not everything has to involve around being the best. Whats wrong with being second place or third place or forth place?PC NA

Well the good thing is they will be changing things, or add things in so all races can benefit instead. So maybe adding in sets or champion points changing the passives for some of the skillines involved with theives guild dark brotherhood and the lockpicking pickpocketing fencing skill line to give that to players. So if they change up a passive or too to restore the stealth without it being tied to a racial passive then well that won't be as bad so your bosmer could regain their stealthiness that way.PC NA

Its not about being in a certain place in regards to DPS as I only really play for PVP. As a altmer sorc I already have to invest heavy into sustain. This change is really going to hurt my PVP damage as I'm going to have add more sustain. The stam restore is really not that great. If they made it something like penetration it wouldn't be as bad but I'd take the regen over it all.Edited by bardx86 on February 5, 2019 4:59AM0 -

I have Bosmer... but they're not thieves - or not specifically. ALL my toons grab stuff when they can, and launder it. That's how this game works. So.... my Bosmer aren't any more likely to use stealth than any of my other toons.0 -

Lorewise Bosmer are theives they have the Rite of Theft. At least in their homelands outside of it they just might be like any other person. But I think the rite of theft might be a important rite to many bosmer so they would have some training or ability to thieve around.PC NA
