My tank bud farm money for the Orgnum set. I told him about the tamriel website and he said been looking at it for a few days for no luck.
So he now thinks this game is trash because no global ah, it sucks because i was having fun playing with him.

✭✭✭If they are not staying over that, then I doubt they will stay once you tell them it is an 8 trait crafted set that is not the best for tankys but it is his choice. For all the crafted sets it is best to have your guild help with whoever is a master crafter. Also, be sure to have all the mats and a nice tip ready for the crafter taking the time to make the set for you.

✭✭✭✭✭You can also get that set crafted for him and trade later. Obviously you can't put it on yourself first as it will bind to your account.
You will have more luck with sets like Julianos that are actually sought after. Orgnum is fairly unpopular and a base game set everyone has access to.This Bosmer was tortured to death. There is nothing left to be done.1 -

✭He is doing a life regen build nb tank. He wanted a regen set, I don't think he cares about being the best. All he wants is ease of use of getting the set since he has the gold for it.
I mean, he was having fun with the game until he found out about the ah. Oh well.0 -

✭✭✭✭✭If your friend quit this game because he couldn't immediately find a crafted set on the guild traders, I suspect he was probably looking for reasons to not play anyway, even if he didn't realize it.
A bit of game knowledge could go a long way, but he's likely not the type to delve deeper into things such as finding out how a set can be acquired, joining a craft guild or meeting friends that can craft it or even asking in zone for more information on this set. Even if all those are things he doesn't want to do, he could likely just google the set name for more information. He decided to do none of these things and instead rage quit. He might not be a RPer but he is also definitely not the brightest guy. Obscure crafted set in under 50 levels. How often do you think people buy something like that? He might easily be the only guy on the server looking for it. Ehy would a crafter stock something like that? Even in a game with AH noone would do it.
What your friend can do though is go buy all the materials with his "hard farmed" gold and go to any major city and just type in chat "Can someone craft me a set of Orgnum's scales for lvl xx? I have mats and will pay you xx". I guarantee that within 10 minutes some guy would answer him and craft him his obscure set. He might even do it for free to help a lowbie.

Unfortunately, the best way to get that gear is to be social. Even just one crafter friend is all it would take. His gold could buy the materials and just one outside person could craft it. The alternative of leveling his own crafting professions is an option as well, though it does take some time. If he doesn't mind spending real cash in the store, he can buy trait research reduction timers and have it ready to go overnight. In game reducers could be used in place of store reducers and he could have a very solid crafter within weeks (A new player might take weeks or months to get to lv 50/cp160 where gear would even start to matter anyway). A third option is to convince him that set isn't all that good (because it really isn't good) and lean him toward a set that might end up being better for his build.Edited by redspecter23 on February 5, 2019 2:16AM2 -

✭I think the best thing I can do is just start crafting myself and one day make the gear for him. Eh gives me something to work on. He likes his orc regen build. So if I am able to craft gear for him. I think it would calm him down...but it is going to be awhile for sure lol.0 -

But the availability is the point. That doesn't happen here. And while I get that the op is unhappy that this particular thing caused his friend to quit playing.... I personally wish there was a global AH like in most other major MMOs.
Yes. I'm aware that's not happening. I find it regrettable.... the fact that the devs chose to make the guild seller option sacrosanct.... well.... I have my thoughts about that. Nope. I'm not posting them. I do value my posting ability.3 -

But as someone stated, it looks like he was looking for a reason to quit. I came from wow too and this was a big let down but it is not a solid reason to quit. Tell your friend to try to make some friends in game, join some guilds, people are more than happy to craft gear if you ask them, specialy guild mates.
I still ask guild mates to craft glyphs for me beacause I can't get myself to level enchanting.
Also, having to use addons AND a website just so the trade system can work is proof enough that it is garbage.4 -

Even with an Auction House it would be HIGHLY unlikely anybody would craft it to put up for sale...…

Or maybe you need less of a cry baby soft skinned and think skulled friend to game with you? This one doesn't seem fit at all to play an ever changing game as are all MMO.12 -

The point is, the trade center is showing you everything on the market. if you aren't finding it that means no one is selling it. A global AH wouldn't change that. A global AH would not solve this "issue".
