[PvP] Magdk feedback bar/sets/style/ and formations?

Hi,

I am a long-time fan of Magdk for both pve(DPS, healing) and I've done plenty of PvP on magdk. I would like to know what you all do for you Dks and touch base on an idea I had a long time ago and now I am circulating back to so any feedback would be appreciated.

Dunmer DK - Vampire

Skill Bar

For PvP normally I run the following;
Sword and Board -
Flame Lash | Burning embers | Fossilize | coagulating | blood Reflective scales |
Ult | Dragons leap |

Restoration Staff

| Healing ward | Chocking Talon | Deep Breath | Igneous Shield | Mage Light | Ult | Magma Armor |

Armor Set

1|1|5

Shackle Breaker | 5
Sun | 3
Grothdar/Skoria/blood spawn | 2

Fighting Style

I found that PvPing with a Dk you got to be committed right, so it's always good to pick my fights. Scanning PvP ranks, visible armor, the way other players move. Typically I like to avoid a fight with Stamina base builds(sorc, Dks). I play very non-aggressive, wait for my openent to make the first move(normally is a range attack) which I love countering with Reflective scales. Normally I will never burst anyone down, the DK is not build like that, first I talon, or Fossilize them until their stamina is gone, while I keep my burning embers and reflect anything they like to throw at me, as soon as there is an opening (shields down, or low health) ill whip them down and I use dragon leap it chip off the last bit of health. Normally any more then 2 players on me and no where to go means a sure death or tank until someone shows up but if anyone got tips I am all ears.

concept of fighting formations

I had an idea and was looking to see if anyone has ever attempted this or if ESO PvP would even allowed this.

During pve we make little balls of players and move around to fight mechanics. So I was interested in of this could be possible?

I don't mean like zergs but a small group of players in an organized structure moving through the fields, Fighting off players, buffing eachother, cc people and calling out movements. For example imagen 5 DK tanks in a circular shape linked by Guard protecting a healer in center. Could this be done? Do you think it would be effective?

Thanks for that, for a dual wield it does seem like it sustains okay. I'll look into that!

I have been rocking sun spinners and skoria (6l/1h because that's what I have) and its actually been pretty good.

    Fire destro
FoO, Reach, Elemental drain, Embers, Whip and Leap
    Resto
Wings, Blood, Armaments, Dampen, Mist and Resto Ult

I sometimes die very quickly and when outnumbered I have no chance but the damage is so good that I find that it ends up being my defence by applying too much pressure. I was sick of doing average damage only to have someone turn around and whoop me.

Major issue is no armor buff and a gap closer would be nice to chase the runners.

Why do you run 3 pieces of sun or do I read it wrong? Anyway magdk is my main and I have great succes with
    2p bloodspawn
    5p axiom/shackle/spinners
    5p bright throats boast
    5/1/1 light destro s&b

    Front bar
    Ele drain
    Fossilize
    Embers
    Cauterize
    Whip
    Ulti leap

    Back bar
    Volatile
    Dragon blood
    Wings
    Race against time
    Degeneration
    Ulti psijic one

This works awesome in duels and open world, I have no problem X'ing except when u get zerged down but I would've died anyway then.

In stead of bright throats you can also back bar lich if you like. If you do use lich backbar I'd run a willpower flame staff front bar with shackle/axiom/spinners on the body.

As for the formations I don't think it'll work because you can stand in a circle with 50 people but you don't block people from just walking in the circle, hope this helps 😊

    Buffed stats

I just came back to the game recently. Never really delved into PvP that much but I decided to start and built my MagDK like this.

    Dunmer
    5x Elegent
    5x Knight-Slayer
    2x Skoria
Flame Destro Staff w/ Flame Enchant
    Resto Staff w/ Magic/Magicka Enchant

Destro Bar - Stone Giant / Flame Lash / Dragon Fire Scales / Elemental Drain / Flames of Oblivion / Ferocious Leap
Resto Bar - Burning Embers / Engulfing Flames / Healing Ward / Molten Armaments / Volatile Armor / Devouring Swarm

I play this as a long range damage dealer with Heavy Attacks combo'd with Stone Giant.
When people get close, I switch to Resto Staff, stack DoTs and continue to HeavyAttack for Skoria procs switch back to Destro Staff for Stone Giant / Flame Lash combos as well.

With a fully charged heavy attack crit, Stone Giant, Flame Enchant proc, Knight Slayer 8% Oblivion damage proc - I have hit people between 7.5K-20K damage depending on their build. Unless they are built super tanky, I can normally take at least half of someone's health.

I run this setup in noCP:

BSW jewels (arcane/2 weapon damage+1 mag regen enchants) and light gloves+waist (impen/max mag enchants)

Shacklebreaker inferno staff (nirn/fire enchant) + Shacklebreaker resto staff (infused/weapon damage enchant), heavy chest and medium legs (both impen/tristat enchant) + Shacklebreaker light boots (impen/max mag enchant)

Pirate skeleton both light (impen/tristat on head and max mag on shoulder)

Damage bar: Flame Lash, Fossilize, Burning Embers, Elemental Drain, Empowering Chains Ultimate: Ferocious Leap
Heal bar: Mutagen, Reflective Plate, Healing Ward, Volatile Armor, Molten Armaments Ultimate: Life Giver

You can go Shackle>Silks of the Sun and Pirate Skeleton>Valkyn Skoria (heavy + medium for undaunted passives) to make abnormal amounts of damage if you have decent healer in your group. Optional- pick Engulfing Flames instead of chains (you will have to chase people  )/armaments (use spell power pots) for 10% fire damage buff and more Skoria procks.

I generally run shackle + spinner + skoria on my dark elf DK. (5 light and vampire)

Sword and board bar: Burning embers, fossilize, flame lash, deep breath, coagulating blood, leap(ulti)

Destro bar: volatile armor, force pulse, molten armaments, wings, harness (destro ulti)

Generally I range down the target and make them believe that I'm ranged player. When they come close, I swap to melee bar and embers, fossilize, use lash proc and finish them off using leap. Works well for upto 3 enemies. When I face off more than that, I spam fossilize around and use deep breath to survive. It works nicely for me until I get too cocky and start pushing into fights where I am badly outnumbered and can't really win them.
